Dowload directly to my SysAid
When Internet Explorer is opened, the home page will not display.

Estimated resolution time: <15 min.

Case 1: Bad or damaged IE add-ons.

Case 2: Bad URL (univeral resource locator) in the home page setting.

Solutions:

Case 1:  Disable or uninstall Internet Explorer add-ons (also called browser helper objects on BHOs).  See the manage Tools ->> Manage Add-ons configuration area of Internet Explorer 7.

Case 2:  Open Internet Explorer, select Internet options from the main menu, then validate the 'Home Page' URL on the General settings tab.

For more solutions, see also KB-CS3-020.

What about conflicting IPs, Hardware (NIC, switch or routers crash) bad DNS etc....?
There are a lot of reasons other than a bad URL.....

Hi,

I agree, there are many reasons why this issue can happen, but we divide our KB by levels. I just dumped the one's that are performed by level 1 techs (admins that answer the phone and perform quick fixes). We try to put quick fixes were the most resources are (the phone support team - level 1). Level 2 techs are usually onsite or dispatched, and perform more time consuming or advnaced solutions.

If you have any good solutions, please post them - we are always looking for good additions to the Level 2 portion of our KB. Once everyone starts posting, we can really take advantage of the shared KB forum.

Thanks,
CS3

Understood. I have not had any luck uploading KB entries. Although, I suppose we could copy/paste some in to get this forum rolling.

Any specific error that you are receiving?
What exactly happens when you try to upload a KB item?

CS3, Thank you so much for uploading many of your KB items and contributing to the SysAid community!
Keep up the good work!

Haim

No errors per se. It just looks like nothing happens....

I check the entries I want to upload, click the icon and that's it. Nothing else happens. No errors, no hourglass, no dialog box, nothing.

I guess I could simply start a new topic and copy paste, but I dod not know how that would work for others downloading into their KB.
