the users of Sysaid login to sysaid Trough the user portal and we use LDAP for sync. of the usernames and passwords.
so when i look under the usermanagement i see domainnane\username.
the problem is whem i want to submit a role under de task module to a user it sometimes won't work it keeps giving me "none".
after a bit of troubble shooting i found out that there are some usernames not working for example " domainname\n...
whene i try to add a role to this user i see at the bottom off the screen a javascript error after googling this error i found out that the switch \n is used to ignore the input.
so now i have a problem to submit a taskrole to some users.

1. is there a way to solve this problem ?
2. is it possible to strip the " domainname\ " and only show the username.

if my explaination of the problem is not clear please let me know then i will try to add some screen shots.

Thanks
Edwin.

Hello Edwin.

Which version of SysAid are you currently running?
How many LDAP servers have you integrated SysAid with?

If you integrated SysAid with only one domain, you can remove the domain prefix by going to preferences > end user portal and in the "User's asset determined by" field, change the value to "network user" then delete all the users and refresh the list to re-import the assets.

Best regards.
Haim

Hi Haim.

we are using Sysaid 5.6.0.9
we have only one LDAP server.

wil the removing off the prerfix affect the assignement of the old assets, assigned projects, tasks and the SR's ?

Edwin.

Hey Edwin,
Sorry for the late response.

Since you have only one LDAP server, there is no problem removing domain prefix just like i instructed you in the previous posts.
All assignments for end users will be saved, for administrators, you will first need to promote the end users to administrators and then delete the existing administrators one by one (which will prompt you to move assignments to the appropriate administrator).

Best regards.
Haim
