Hello,
We are looking at installing SysAid in a layer on our Virtual Server. We would like to install SysAid on CentOS with Tomcat 5.5 and I would like to use a 5GB partition for the OS install and we are going to point the SysAid databse to a production MySQL server that has roughly 150GB of available disk space.
Are there any foreseeable issues that this type of setup could cause? Mainly speaking around the 5GB OS partition. I'm thinking that since the front-end is going to be just a web server with a site that the front end space wouldn't grow in size.
Any input or recommendations?
Thanks!
Ryan

Hello myjunkiepc.
As you said, the webserver itself will not increase in size so 5gb should be enough.
Your suggested setup will work, i can only comment that if you are going to use SysAid in large scales (beyond 500 users and assets) you will usually get better performance installing it on a dedicated server and not on a virtual machine.
Best regards.

When you have preformace issue check your virtual machine preformance log, sysaid server need enough ram and database in normal state i mean not overloaded, beyond 500 users you need change location of your database get it out of virtual enviroment, that will help.
http server itself can be on virtual machine i thing.
Dont wory about space, we have 500 more users and Our database have ~2gb. Nothing more grow in sysaid server than database

Awesome, Thanks a million! I guess I forgot to mention that our DB server is a dedicated server for MySQL--we don't have our DB server virtualized. It would just be the webserver peice that is virtualized.
