i would like to have a drop down box added to the general details tab, so i can keep track of which departments are submitting the most tickets.

Hi c.krebs,

I suppose you are talking of the service request --> general details tab.
As far as I know you can customize yourself a view (click the blue gears icon) and generate a new view with you preferences including the department field. (See SysAid Manual around Page 48 )

Hi,

I have this issue with the department and company fields under general tab > Submit Service request.

Both fields are Read Only and defaulted to 'none'. I need it to be changed to a drop down box so users can select. This is useful for my New Hire Request form.

Hi Marian, thank you for the post!

These fields only shows the company or department that the users belong to. Users can not select their company/department in these fields.
However if you set the desired company/department to a user then when that user submits a service request the company/department will be picked automatically.

In order to add departments please navigate from the Main Menu to Customize -> Lists -> Select Department from the drop down list and fill in the desired departments.
If you're using the Enterprise edition and you would like to add companies then it can be added under User Management -> Companies.
