I'm in the process of setting up a change management template and workflow. Is it possible to set it up so that the status of the change depends on whether the change was approved or not? It seems that if you complete an approval action with the answer being no, the workflow simply continues anyway. I would like to have the workflow stop if the change is rejected.

This is possible. Read the User Guides, and then have a play around with the escalation rules to see whether you can adjust for your needs. Alternatively you can contact SysAid support and they will be able to help setting these up for you.
