It seems there is a timer of inactivity that logs a user out of Sysaid.
Is it possible to increase this timer or disable it?

taken from the faq's here:- http://www.ilient.com/faq-using.htm
How to modify the session timeout interval (that is, how long can you be inactive before your connection with SysAid will expire)?
In order to change the timeout interval, please edit the file:
...\SysAidServer\root\WEB-INF\conf\serverConf.xml.
You can find this file among the SysAid files on your computer.
Go to this file and after the line: webServerUser>false</webServerUser>
please add in a new line: <maxInactiveInterval>____</maxInactiveInterval>
Fill in the blank space (____) the timeout value of your choice in seconds.
Finally, restart the "SysAid Server" service. Now the interval you have chosen will be activated.

This fix seems to no longer work for the beta.

It's a bit unhelpful that it logs you out so ungracefully without due warning or notification.
Several admins were working on requests and then when they hit OK/Apply they were presented with the log on screen, losing all their work!!
I've raised a Feature Request for the software to behave in a friendlier way here.

I had this fix in place with v6.5.0.8, worked flawlessly.
I just installed 7.0.0.4, no longer works.
Has anyone addressed this, and I missed it?
Any help would be appreciated...

I'm hoping there is a fix for this coming soon. My admins are losing a lot of time by having to recreate all of their SR work because of auto-logout without notification. They end up coming back to their desk, completing the SR, then clicking Apply/Ok and are sent back to the login screen.

Not really an extension of the timeout - but I got around this by installing single sign on (SSO)
So now admins never login - so never get logged out
I had to rasie a support request with sysid to get the instructtions on how to do this

I opend a support ticket...this worked.
Thank you for contacting SysAid.

drusko, I'm confused here. You said in a previous message that you miss the option to modify the session time but now you say it works using the instructions you give. The thing is, those instructions are the same instructions that techguy posted in the second message of this thread (back in 2008).
Does this mean you didn't try/reapply the changes when you upgraded to 7 but now by adding the line back to the config file it works?
