When using the Deploy SysAid I am able to find the Computers and Laptops within my network but I am unabled to install anything for example I get a total of 3 different errors . When I try to deploy Sys Aid on my own laptop through the network as the current user it gives me an error but it will ask for a password for the Guest account??? then give me this error
"UnInstallation failed, reason: Can't connect to remote computer, error: The operation was canceled by the user"
And sometimes I get this errror
"Installation failed, reason: can't create remote directory (\\LAPTOP43\C$\Program Files\SysAid) , error: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect
Finish."
And if I try deploying SysAid using a username and password I know that is valid on my laptop it gives me this error
"Installation failed, reason: Can't connect to remote computer, error: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again"
Please help me with this deployment issue, And I also want to know that I am at a university in which it requires that in order to use the internet i need to use the proxy server... I have tried both using the proxy server and as well as not using the proxy server.

Hello! and welcome to the SysAid community.
The deployment tool require that you will have a domain administrator permissions (or at least have access to the machines network share and have permissions to install software on it)
The "error: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect" is an error that relates to insufficient permissions.
Can you please tell us the version of the deployment tool that you are using? you can see it at help > about in the deployment tool

I am getting the same errors, and am sure it's regarding permissions...
Installing SysAid on \\GATEWAY.
Installation failed, reason: can't create remote directory (\\GATEWAY\C$\Program Files\SysAid) , error: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect
Finish.
GATEWAY being the computer i'm trying to install on...version 6.01 of the deployment tool, and am wondering exactly where to enable/open the TCP/UDP ports....i thought I did it in both Windows Firewalls, even tried on my LAN router....there's only the 2 computers on this internet network at this time...I noticed when I tried to 'undeploy' to GATEWAY, it tried to login as GUEST....is that a SYSAID default?
Any help would be so appreciated...I didn't want to open a helpdesk ticket over this, as i'm sure it's something simple i'm missing...

Hey there.
SysAid's deployment tool require a domain environment.
From what you are saying i think you are using a workgroup, is that correct?
In this case, you will need to install the agent manually on the other machine or by login script.
Regards.
Haim

Haim, I can install sysaid agents on win xp machines after changing the logon user setting in the deployment tool. the xp can be in workgroup, all you need is logon credentials like user: win-xp\administrator pass: yourpass. Am I missing something?
