You should be able to remove it from the Customized Notifications.
Go to Preferences -> Customize -> Customized Notifications and then select the 'Email body to end user regarding an SR'. Delete the due date part of the email and then save.

Hi, thanks for the reply. The issue is actually not on the email notification, but on the message displayed in the End User Portal when they submit a sr themselves. See attached.
