Hi everyone,
Here I'm again with a question.
In the monitoring setup on the performance tab, you can add the HD Usage for monitoring.
But I can't choose which HD/partition Sysaid will monitor.
On all our clients we have the same HD setup C: ,D: and E:
It looks like sysaid only monitors the C: Partition. Is this correct?
If so how can I tell sysaid to monitor all the Partitions separate ?
Kind regards,
René

Hello Rene.
Since SysAid see every computer as an "asset" then it also see the entire drives as "storage" so you can't manually choose a particular partition
However, this does not mean it only monitor one partition, it monitors all partitions, and even if just one of them will hit the threshold, you will be notified.
Best regards
Haim

Thanks for the reply Haim.
Ok that question is solved. If it is as you said than it is ok for us.
But it will popup another question on the same subject.
There is a graphical overview of the HD usage. So reading your reply, this overview is an overview of 1 HD.
Is the percentage you see here a sum of the "free" space on all the partitions of that HD?
And what if there are more than 1 HD in the system? Will sysaid see them all, like the partitions in your explanation.
Sorry for all those questions...
Kind regards,
René

No problem at all
The graph shows the HD with the most space taken, so if drive C: has 70% taken and D:\ has 75%, the graph will show D:\ and it's usage.
Best regards.

This fine for hard drives that do not have a recovery partition, as those that do will always be above the percent you select as they are typically in the higher 90's of the percent used.

In a future version of SysAid (perhaps our next one), it will already be possible to monitor individual partitions on one hard drive.

Its useless to use hard-disk monitoring with these levels, we only need to monitor SYSTEM drive C: cause this is critical not the other drives.
Let me tell you 2 scenarios;
1. A 100GB disk with 50GB C: 50GB D: drive. The computer records camera on the drive D: and the camera recording software automaticly deletes old camera recorder files itself so the graph will always give error in this case even the drive C: has over 35GB free space
2. Computer has a 100GB disk with only one partition and has 80GB free space, put an external disk with 80GB from the USB with 70GB full. So the monitor sees this drive and gives error. Imagine this can be in over 500 active machines everyday.
Thats why i don't use and not believe disk monitoring
Conclusion: Sysaid must be able to monitor different drives with selection, expecially C: (or system drive only)!!!

Hey mademirci,
As i said in the above post, we are planning to include seperate partition monitoring in one of our next versions.
I still don't have a ETA on it, but it will probably won't make it into version 6.
Best regards.

Is there a feature request associated with this thread? I'd like to vote for it.

Same here, the information is "useless" without this option.

Yes, I'm glad to let you know that version 6.5 will allow you to monitor specific partitions on an asset.
Regards.
