I was wondering if there was a way to accomplish this in this software
I have some users "Programmers" that I do not need to have admin access to the helpdesk.
but they suppoprt many departments, i.e. catalog, costumer support, ect for software issues and I have to seperate my departments into companies so the users in the deprtments can see all the sr's for the department and provide input ect,
Now, I need to have these application support personell supervise these SR's from the different companies ( departments) when needed so they can add input from an application support side only. An admin will manage the sr itself.
Is it possible to assing these user to multiple comapanies so they can see all the sr's in the system?

Hi Paul
I am not quite clear on the question. But i have a similar and basically i have been able to give some admins access to helpdesk only with no remote control , some helpdesk only with remote control and some full access.
Most of these options are available in preference and users . Then on the tab for admin you can untick the options you do or don't want people to have

Hello Paul.
Thank you for your great answer.
You have several ways to achieve what you want in SysAid.
One option is to give your programmers admin access and limit their permissions like Jonathan suggested.
The other will be to create one company in SysAid, and put all those users under this "company" and just seperate your users by using departments.
Now that all of your users will be under one company, you can assign your programmers to be "company supervisors" and they could see all the service requests from all departments
Best regards.

Thanks, I really dont need them to have admin access, plus I want to avoid having to buy admin licenses for programmers. we have allot of them and some are contractors. They really wont use most of the feateures available to them. They raelly just need to add notes to the SR that the users submits.
I dont see where to setup departments?. I see companies, groups, ect Can you point me in the right direction.
I will look in the admin guide maybe I am missing something....

Hi
In Preferences - Users - End users
At the top of this screen is a Blue Cog. Click on it and from here you can add fields in
In particular the ones you are looking for
Department and Is supervisor. if you have used the company and Location fields these are there also
