A high volume sprinkler head discharged @ 270 gallon per minute...... 35,000 gallons later everything destroyed. I got back from Vegas, Just installed 7.01 Monday to start testing. Monday night, Tuesday Morning 1:43am the flood came. Week before last was 115hr week, this past week was 85 hours worked. So what have I missed? Sorry Sarah if I missed any of the support emails, everything was hosed so as you can guess our email was dead. On a side note... Tape backups are great until they get wet, the the tape turns into a hockey puck!

Looks like a nightmare !!!!!
When did you discover it ? in the morning ?
Something similar almost happened to me -the room above the server room got flooded from the AC system based on water - lucky for us no water came thru....
But we did decide to add a flood detection system so if the water does come, at least we can get alerted.....
Anyway, Good luck recovering :)

I hope you had a good DR plan, and that it worked.
That sucks, best of luck to you.

We were extremely lucky. No data was lost and we were back operational very quickly.

I hope you got payed on a hourly basis
That must been a nightmare .....
Now you can think how to prevent the next time.
Here in Israel most of IT take it seriously because of the military threats.
After Lebanon war a few years ago we moved the servers to a bomb shelter with 40 cm walls, installed AC to backup an APC cooling unit.
A good UPS and gas fire extinguishing system. Offsite backup tapes storage and we have a safe in the room.
After a little flood we had there after a strong rain we added a water pump and even a sand barricade at the door
With so much dependent on this room you can never be too careful......
If something happens I'm at the data center !!!
