So I emailed the sysaid team yesterday asking for an extension to the trial period before we go ahead and purchase the full version on a hosted basis
I get the email back with the activation xml files etc - but I cant seem to install the program as I get the following error.
the patch is unsuitable for your version of sysaid.
I've been to the patches page and downloaded the latest patch update - still get the same error.
Any chance anyone cuold help? Or will I have to un- and re-install?

mikeybt,
There's no need to re-install. However, since I have very limited information here, I'm really guessing on what the current situation is. Try this:
1. Stop the SysAid Server service (if running).
2. Download the free edition license file from http://webdist.sysaid.com/free-activation.zip and place extract it in ...\SysAidServer\root\WEB-INF\conf (replacing the existing file)
3. Run the patch to upgrade from free to full edition. When asked, please provide it with the trial license file you received from us.
If this is still not working, please submit a service request with our helpdesk (by sending an email to helpdesk@sysaid.com).
Let us know how it goes,
Joseph.

ok - so the file now installed which is great.
However, when I go back into the program, the web page shows up as cannot be displayed.
I go back and check the services for sys-aid server - and its showing up as stopped. I restart the service, clear cache and cookies from IE8, and try again to no avail.
Is anyone able to advise?

I believe you said you have sent an Email to helpdesk@sysaid.com, correct ?
If so, please let us know the service request number.
