Hi,

Is it possible to link different custom views to different asset groups in the asset list?

For example

When I choose the asset group - Desktops and then have to manually change to the customised view named Computers to view relevant information on the list (IPs, MACS etc.)

I then change to the Mobiles group and have to change the view to mobiles to see relevant information for this asset type (owner, phone no, sim no etc.)

Anyone any ideas?

Dear ITDave,

You can make as many views as you wish according to the the assets group than to put on each view a static filter with its Asset group see my screenshot please .

Sorry to be dense I dont understand how this will change views automatically when I change asset groups?

Dear ITDave,

It won't - Simply you will choose a view and it change the asset group - meaning it is doing the opposite for example I want to see the London asset group so I will change the view to lodaon asset group and i will see only the assets in this group.

Im with you now. But rather then define a static filter at the asset list screen I should add the filter in the custom list view.

What is the syntax I should use to for asset group name?

Ive tried group_name = 'Desktops'
asset_group_name = 'Desktops'

but these casue the view to error.

Its ok, found it. Its parent_group='Desktops' etc.
