In the login.htm file I see an #if($showForgot) statement in the HTML code. Is there an option to allow for a button on the Login page for the user to reset password and send it via email to them? If there is could you tell me how to turn the option on? I can't locate it in the application.
The option to allow end users to reset their own password is currently enabled only if you don't have LDAP integration enabled. The logic is that the reset password option currently supports only user accounts that were created in SysAid, so it is hidden for LDAP enabled environment to avoid confusions...
(did you notice how many times I used the word currently? surprises are just around the corner... )
We are using LDAP but it still allows the end user to select the link, enter user name and email address and then they receive a new password. The new password doesn't work, but this is confusing to the end user. What is the easiest way to disable or remove the Forget password link?
The only way to control the login page, is by editing the login.htm file, according to the instructions on http://www.sysaid.com/customize.htm (you'll need to find the tag creating that link and remove it).
This is only possible in the Pro+ or Enterprise editions, though...
