Hi there,

Need some advice on creating a custom filter in the CI List. At the moment, we have 4 filters. CI Type, Status, Owner and Location. What I wish to do is have an additional filter for CI Sub-type. For example, under the CI Type of Asset, we have 229 printers, about 50 servers and 200 thin clients. I would like to be able to filter this list to ONLY display the CI Type Asset, CI Sub-type Thin Client.

I have tried creating a custom filter by basically copying the settings from the CI Type filter and replacing Type with both "Subtype" and "Sub-type", but each time this renders the CI list invisible and I have to restore to a backup to get the view back.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Dear James Cropper plc,

In order to add a CI Sub Type filter to the CI list, please do the following:
1. Go to CMDB > CI List and click on the Customize List button in the top toolbar.
2. In the Customize List window, click on “Add” (to the right of Filter Menus) and enter the following information in the corresponding fields:
Name: CI Sub Type (or any name of your choice)
List Field: ci_att.ci_sub_type
Lookup table: ci_sub_type
Lookup Field: id
Lookup Caption: caption
Order By: caption
3. Click on Close and then Save.

Thanks Inna

Inna,

That worked perfectly. Thank you very much! I thought I had tried that, but obviously I must have mis-typed something.

Thanks again

Is it also possible to get the set of sub types belonging to the selected "CI Type" in the drop-down list?

Thanks!
