As a newby I have some questions about Asset Management under the Free Edition (7.5.06)

1) Would it be possible to include "purchase Price" for each Asset?

2) Under Maintenance I have "Monitor" and "Monitor Serial", does this mean the screen/display?
Because I would say a display/monitor is also a separate asset, with his own make/model/serial/supplier etc.
Therefor I wonder is you can link asset with each other (like workstation linked with display/monitor).
Or maybe you have a scanner which is connected locally to the workstation, would be nice to see this under the workstation asset.

3) Would it be possible to have a contact person under "General Details" for a supplier at the "Supplier List"?

4) Is there any way to correct incorrect detected hardware? For example I have "Physical: 1002 Mb" for the memory but should be 1024 Mb.

Dear matthys70,

1. purchase Price is alredy existig refer to my screenshot .
2. Monitor Present the monitor of this asset
Monitor Serial Present the serial number of the monitor of this asset

To associate assets with monitors, key boards mouses etc you should have the CMDB module of the full edition.

3. This is possible in the full edition.

4. the data should be correct if it is not correct please contact us at helpdesk@sysaid.com and we will investigate this.

All answers are clear except for the first one.

I really do not have this filed, not sure why.
I did however updated the currency list and removed the USD as we do not use this within our organization.

Sadly the purchase Price is ONLY included in the Full Edition and not the Free Edition

BTW why does the Asset List of a machine mention Physical memory and not the total installed memory? For example Asset List says "Physical: 1002 Mb" but the Asset Details report mention "Memory 1024 Mb". In the report I don't see Physical and in the list I don't see total Memory.

The report does seem to return a slightly different result from what's showing on the asset form. I'll check this with our QA team to see why there's a difference and which one is more accurate.
I'll update as soon as I have updates.

Well... I just found out when I installed another copy of Sysaid Free Edition in a virtual environment that it DID had this option without problem(!).
And that was also from the same source and also on Debian 6. Only totally different hardware.

So it's not clear to me why I don't have "Purchase Cost" at one environment and have in another environment.
And both are the Free Edition (7.5.05)...
