When i did the update through the Network Discovery it shows agent 8.0.04
when i do it through Deploy v8.0.04 it shows as agent 8.0.05

Which should we be using?
so far agent 8.0.04 is working
Still testing 8.0.05,

So far can not get ANY remote control to work on agent v8.0.05

Interesting. I used the Deploy tool, which as you said installs 8.0.05 and have not had any luck with remote control. I've never had much luck with deploying through Network Discovery.

What is the issue with the remote are ?

Can you upload please screenshots with errors and the exact scenario

for example the server is 2008r2
the agent is XP home the admin tools installed on vista...

If you referring RCG you should use only HTML 5 browser

The agent has not worked for me since 8.0.4 on any PC, it just sits there and does not come back and on those rare times when it does connect it quits responding after a few seconds.

Hi All

It is very important for us to understand exactly what is wrong with your Agents and you remote controls.
I would appreciate it if you all opened an SR with the following logs attached:

...\SysAidServer\root\WEB-INF\logs (entire folder, zipped)

Also please deploy the agent to one of your stations in debug mode. that can be set be going
to the setting and moving the log drop down to Debug. Once you do that, you'll find a log folder under C:\Program files \SysAid.
Please Zip this file and attache it to the SR.

feel free to post the SR number hear. If necessary we can set up a remote session with you guys.
I will be following up on this post for any new input

Did not have any issue with v7.5.05 all assets worked

It is working on a few, have not determined the “difference”

Have computers ranging from windows 2000 to 2008

I am trying to get a detail list of what is working or not on which assets, this will take time

So far I have noticed,
My Three Win2k machines did not update through the network discovery to v8.0.04 like the rest of the assets that where online,
Some remote is working, RCG and direct on agent V8.0.04, have not tried to update any to v8.0.05 that are working with v8.0.04

When I using the deploy, it updated the win2k machines to agent v8.0.05
I reconfigured the deploy temporarily to use V8.0.04.. still nothing on the win2k assets
Have set the Win2K assets back to v7.5.05, everything working again, on remote direct

I will do more testing and keep you informed

Ok after hours of testing......
It looks like ALL assets with V8.0.04 agent are working... but not the first connection, sometime it take 2 times to remote before it will connect
at first i thought it was just not waiting long enough... nope , I did have this issue with agent v7.5.05 also occasionally

Windows 2000, only agent v7.5.05 is working, i know, we are upgrading
not sure if anyone is still using win2k and have any other agent working

will do further testing after turning on debug on these assets

updated a couple to agent v8.0.05, seems to be working
BUT
as in another topic having this issue with the deploy when going from agent v8.0.04 to v8.0.05, does NOT seem to be doing this from v7.5.05 to v8.0.05
Deploy running on Win7 x64, login as limited

Do not seem to have this issue when running deploy as admin

Thank you all for opening an SR. cooperspc i really appreciate the time you are potting in for these test you in put
is very valuable. As for the remote registry crashing when trying to deploy, I have seen it happen once or twice, however
I'm not sure of the cause for that. I will ask one of our developers regarding this and get back to you.

Haven't heard anything on this issue recently. Found this thread (http://www.ilient.com/Sysforums/posts/list/6910.page). I tried the suggested fix but it did not work for me.

I have noticed that V8 no longer supports windows 2000 as an agent

If this is so, is there a way to have SysAid not do the agent update on assets that have windows 2000, agent v7.5 still works fine

currently the only option i see..........
I could disable them, but then can not do any remote or get updates, even with Agent 7.5
I could setup agent updates on specific groups.. have a lot of groups, but possible

Or is SysAid v8.1 able to fix the issue with the agent?

I'm sorry for my delayed response. doing it in groups would be a nice way to work around your issue.
This will not be fixed in V8.1.
