Hi all,
Just curious if anyone knows a way to control or disable the green banner that sometimes overlays the Sysaid content on a user or system wide configuration. If you don't know what I am referring to, the latest banner had the title "Hurry Up - You Have Until June 30th to Win iPads for your IT Team". Some of our team members can be a little sensitive to having the banner show up and even more so when it may be considered as advertising. I know you can personally close the current message, but is there a way to permanently disable the banner from showing up?

Thanks!

yes, this caused some political issues for us to. We are keen to not receive advertising like this.

Yep i'd like to join in the chorus here. Never been a fan of this banner - very intrusive (and I like to be able to be in control of what messages SysAid displays to users via the 'news' section.) The latest 'advertising' has taken it to a new level. This really should be able to be turned off.

I decided to check direct with Sysaid. So far their response has been to use a query to delete the contents of the generic_messages database table. My opinion is that this is not really a permanent fix and (after looking at that table) a bit crude when a slightly more elegant way would be to update all records according to the disabled column (at least with my guesswork). I asked how these messages got in the table but did not get a definitive answer.

If that interests you, it's probably best if you work with Sysaid unless you know what you are doing.
