Hello everyone,
I want to ask if there are 'easy' ways to create custom reports?
Or if there are people who created reports and share them in the forum.
I checked the 'Customized reports collection!' but doesn't contain any useful item for myself.
The main issue I have is that I do not get what I SEE on the screen.
For example I would like to have a 'nice' compact overview of the assets, in rows and columns.
Like I see under Asset List, with the fields: Name, Group, Location, Description, IP Address, Type, Manufacturer, Serial, Purchase Date etc...
But if I hit the Export to PDF, the outcome is more detailed and not as compact as on the screen where they are displayed in rows and columns.
PS .. before anyone says, yes exporting to Excel does the trick. But would like to have generated reports on this item in PDF format.
Is there an easy way to create a custom report?
I also check the Inventory 'Asset Details By Group' but this is just gives total number per group, not really detailed as it says.
I would have expected that detailed would mean what assets are inside what group... etc.
PS .. I also notice the 'Assets that were not updated' report generated a nice compact list...
Thanks,
Matthijs

Pity there is no reply, guess making reports is not easy.
I also miss any reports on warranty and/or suppliers.
Anyway, is there any good documentation on this?
I did read something about iReport, is this something your NEED to buy extra to be able to create your own reports?
Thanks,
Matthijs

To be honest the default reports in SysAid are not really useful to us.
That is why we are creating reports with I-Reports as well and it is for free
(link: http://jasperforge.org/projects/ireport)
Since we have SysAid connected on a SQL database we can run queries to get the desired reports.

If you have a manager license there is now a report wizard for creating reports that makes the task a lot easier.
Have you tried this?

Thanks for the replies, and indeed we have manager license.
So I will try to use that ... though I am not sure if I will get lists as reports.

Is it correct that using the wizard only results in excel exports?
This is not what I wanted, would like PDF reports in a list format.
BTW .. would it not be a great feature if report templates could be shared by way of export/import?

No the wizard can output reports in pdf or excel format (subject to certain limits).
If the layout is not right you will need to post some screenshots and explain what you want it to look like.
Yes I like your last suggestion.

Hi matthys70, I also thinks this is a good idea. Please send us an email to helpdesk@sysaid.com regarding this and we will submit this as a feature request.
