We just upgraded to 8.5 and it seems like it wiped all the permissions for our Admins. When I or any of the other admins try to log in, it just goes to the end user portal. Even when clicking the home button, it still stays at the end user portal. I have a current ticket in with them for this issue already and waiting to hear a response back.

Sounds like you need to re-enable the local admin account then re-enable your admins.

It's running so far, but I haven't tested a lot. I noted that the Sysaid logs are now broken, and display garbled crap

Wish it was that simple, you cant even find a login that will get you to the user manager.

After the update the usernames are now being proceeded by the domain name, so instead of jdoe for example it says DOMAINNAME\jdoe, We prefer to show the username and full name in our list, however for now I have told it to just put in the first and last name so it doesnt confuse the users, however I need it to go back where it wasnt preceeding the username with the domains.

so the default local admin (sysaid_admin or something) doesn't let you there, or was that deleted to?

That one is also gone, so we just reverted back as we have that on a VMware server. We will upgrade at a later time since we also should upgrade Tomcat to version 7 and update java as well.

Interesting on that. I would have never noticed as we are on a domain environment.

There's a command prompt procedure for re-enabling that default account.
EFORE YOU START, STOP THE SYSAID SERVER SERVICE!!
If you have forgotten the administrator username that was specified during installation, you can reset the password of that user. To do this, please follow the instructions below:
1. Open CMD. On windows Vista, you need to run CMD as an administrator, otherwise, this will not work. Go to Start > All programs > Accessories > right click on Command Prompt and select “Run as Administrator”.
2. Change the directory to C:\Program Files\SysAidServer\util (cd C:\Program Files\SysAidServer\util).
3a. In SysAid version 5.0 and below, type ResetPassword and hit enter.
3b. In SysAid version 5.1 and above, type ResetPassword “ACCOUNT NAME” (with the quotes) and press enter.
