Dear all,

we are using SysAid 8.1 Enterprise Edition.
we have a problem with the snmp custom text fields. They are not able to update themself.
If we scan a device for the first time SysAid reads everything without a problem.
But then we can define updatejops etc or run an update manual. No other value will be importet.

1. OID for SNMP Custom Text definiert.
2 SNMP Custom Text auf Monitor page placed.
3. Run SNMP Scan to find device. (HP Procurve Switch 2915G)
=> All values are found. Great!
4. Changed some details in the device (HP Procurve Switch 2915G)
5 Run Update Asset
=> Nothing Happend
6. Run SNMP Scan
=> Asset Found, but no values importet.

What can we do?

Hi, I am sorry you have not received a response sooner.

I have not tried doing much in this area recently. But last time I tried I was having the opposite trouble with one of the description fields I was using, where the name was not customisable on the device, so I would set it in SysAid and then that name would get overwritten each time there was a scan.

I do hope that someone will be able to help you soon, but I think if you need an answer quickly then you will probably have to raise a service request.

It looks like this thread is quite dead, but I'm running into the same problem:

I defined a new OID under Asset Management->Asset Settings->Customized SNMP OID-s.

For the interested, I'm trying to map 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.2.1.3.1 to the Model field for Printers.

I re-ran SNMP scans of all my networks.

The model field was not populated after the scans completed.

Any suggestions on getting this to work?
