Notice this recently, all new users added from the Active directory (LDAP) have the domain listed in front of them.
previous, in the user id field would only contain the user id. Now, new users added have this syntax: DOMAIN\userid.
2 things have changed on our side. First, we upgraded to 8.5.08, second, we upgraded our domaine controller from Windows 2003 to windows 2008 R2.
I guess my question is, which is the culprid and how can I get my users to show without the domain in front of it ?

The problem is the upgrade to 8.5.08.
This question has been asked multiple times on the forum by multiple people (including myself) and the answer we were given is "no, you can't change it, this is how it is"

Hi Guibs,
Please note that you can customize the way you see users in most of the pages by changing User name display method in Customize --> Appearance
This setting allows you to choose how usernames appear in SysAid. The available options are: Username only, First and last name, Login name - first and last name, Last and first name, Login name - last and first name, Display name, and Login name (domain\username).
Best Regards,
Oleg

Where will this setting has an effect? I'm already set to "first and last name".
