Wanted feature: "Known active errors" display page on the end user portal  XML

It would be very nice if you implemented, on the frontpage of the end user portal, an eye-catching field that shows any active known errors. This will reduce incidents and reduce the end users frustration, knowing that his/hers problem is a known error and being worked on.

I know of the News option, but i feel it lack of functionality in this matter. If we could link the known errors in the "Active known errors" view to problem management it would make even more sense and be a better solution.

Maby it would be effective if even "active known errors" came up when people tried to make a new service request? And i also think it could be a good feature if it was sendt out an email to everyone when a new entry in "active known errors" was created, and a email when the entry get closed so that everyone knows immediately when we have a wide spread problem - and when it gets solved.

Im just kinda brainstorming here, but something like this would really make a nice feature for both IT dept and end users.

Indeed, this might be a nice idea. If you wish, you can send an email to helpdesk@sysaid.com and we will forward this as a feature request.

In the time being, I would advise using the news section (Preferences > Edit News), it's made especially for this purpose.

P.S:
If you are using the Enterprise edition, you can create your own "news stand" by doing an HTML customization of the End User Portal (user-end-portal.htm)
