When I attempt to either run the network discovery or deploy the agent it doesn't seem to ever do anything. Looking at the log (see below) I'm seeing some errors but I'm not sure what they mean or how to fix them.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

After restarting the server the network discovery will run. However, when trying to deploy the agent I receive the message "No connection to (remote Registry)". The remote registry service IS running however. ??

I also see a reference to "For troubleshooting this issue, Please find information in the following http://www.ilient.com/help-page.htm?helpPageId=8010". When I go to that link it says something like "This page coming soon". Is it possible that another app runnin on the server is already using that port?

Hi
It is difficult to answer this one, since different networks has different policies and configurations, but I will try to point you to a few basic steps in order to deploy agents successfully.

First make sure that the desired machine is on the same sub network as the SysAid server. If not then please refer to the remote discovery service download link, located in Preferences -> Downloads page.
Please make sure to take all of the following steps:

1) Choose a specific machine that you want to deploy on by its IP address (I will use 192.168.1.10 as an example).
2) On the SysAid server, please go to Start -> Run -> and type in the following command:
"\\192.168.1.10\c$" in order to make sure that you have access to this machine's hard drive.
3) Try to create a test.txt file in this location, in order to make sure that you are able to write to this location.
4) On SysAid server, please go to Start -> Run -> and type "regedit".
Then make sure that you are able to connect to the chosen machine regedit, by clicking on File -> Connect Network Registry -> and using the same IP (192.168.1.10), and expand "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" -> "SOFTWARE".
5) On the SysAid server, please go to services.msc and try to connect to 192.168.1.10 services by clicking Action -> Connect to another computer -> and connect to \\192.168.1.10
6) Please make sure that the local firewall is disabled both for the SysAid server, and for the 192.168.1.10 machine. Or if you have an external firewall device then please disable it temporary in order to perform this test.
7) After you did all the tests, please try to Un - deploy from this specific machine, and then to deploy.
In order to un deploy and redeploy, please go to Network Discovery and choose to deploy / undeploy agents to this specific machine by its IP address, and make sure that you are using the Domain administrators credentials for the deployment.

Once you are able to deploy on this specific machine, you can try to deploy to all other machines on your network by following the same basic rules.

Cheers

I was able to complete ALL tests successfully. However, when I get to the undeploy part I get the same message when I try and deploy....

SysAid Server Discovery request has been launched.

Another interesting note, even though the network discovery doesn't appear to work based on the message at the top of the thread, there are assests lists but they don't have any information (hardware, software etc.)
