Now, from my knowledge, this is more to do with a limitation within the Microsoft Office programs or the clipboard, but I wanted to hear if anyone had found a way to do it.
My question is if it's possible to copy an entire Word document or email within Outlook with embedded images, and paste it directly into a KB article. When a copy/paste procedure is done from Outlook, it grabs the text, then puts a placeholder/broken link where the picture should be. If I select all, then copy an email from Outlook, and paste it into Word, everything transfers over (images and all). If I then copy and paste from Word into the KB article, it does the same thing as Outlook where images are simply broken link signifiers. If I then, copy each individual image within the Word document, and paste them into the KB article, the images show up perfectly within the KB. This can take a long time when there are many images as you might see in a step by step tutorial.
My thought, is that when everything within a Word document is selected (Ctrl+A), then copied to the clipboard, it's only grabbing the file path of the embedded images. When pasted into the browser, it's obviously not able to understand a local filepath, so it puts a placeholder where the image should be. However, if I individually select one image at a time from the Word doc, and paste them one-at-a-time into the KB article, it's actually copying the image file. Has anyone had any luck grabbing an entire document and having it successfully transfer embedded images, in one step?

The best way to know is to simply try one.
I just did, and it worked well.
I copied some advertisement email from Outlook that includes text and pictures, and it worked well.
As a matter of fact, that got me thinking of trying the same with a word like document, and surprisingly, this was more tricky.
If I copy over a bit of text, a picture and some more text, and paste it into the Knowledge-Base (KR) article, I will get the text, and an odd little indication of where the picture was supposed to be.
However, If I then go back to the MS document and copy only the picture, then paste it instead of the ugly little box, the picture will show correctly.
Hope this helps.
