.... But I've uploaded an altered the English to label a custom field. That is just for encoding, no?
Haim wrote:dpfalk,

In SysAid, you have the options to use different languages and encoding types.
Each of the different languages and encoding type can be customized separately using the translation file.

If you customize a specific language and encoding, and there are users using different language settings, they will not be aware of the changes you have made.

Best regards.
Haim

Understood, but there is no shortcut to apply the same translation files to current admins?
According to the Sysaid manual, to change the label on the custom fields, I upload a modified language translation. That works fine, except its only for my user.

Is there a way to make it work for all users?
Changed the authentication to basic.
nevermind. fixed.
We just moved our helpdesk email to exchange 2007.

Getting this error:
[DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-8] ERROR com.ilient - E-Mail pop3 login failed on helpdesk@server
[DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-8] ERROR com.ilient - Command is not valid in this state.

If it telnet port 110 and try and do the log in manually, I get the same error.

Looks like '07 changed the way it does POP3, anyone have any clues?

thanks.
I've had this feature on for quite sometime and haven't seen any clients update.

Does the sysaid serivce have to be running as a domain admin or similar?
I upgraded to 5.6.09, and it is fixed. Both the users get the message.

Any idea what this error is? Data corruption?

The On Call isn't a admin and a SR is never assigned to that user. We do have one routing rule but it doesn't concern these users or the default category.

I will try and update to 5.6.09 and see if that helps.

EDIT: Also looks like there is a little glitch in the website, my log on to Sysaid CSS to get the update, carries over to the forums and now I am a different user.
Hi,

We have a system, we have a exchange/domain user called On Call, every week we change who it forwards to. That works fine.

We use the "Send email notification to [users]" in the Helpdesk prefs to notify use when I new SR comes in. This has worked for quite some time now. We also have our manager one there too.

We just noticed that we are not getting our emails from Sysaid to On Call. Email directly to On Call goes through fine, and if we change the user to, the notification goes to them fine. It is just this one user. The manager got them all along, and they are showing up in SR's message history as been sent to both.

I deleted and re-imported the users and it the problem remains. The only relevant thing that sysaid.log is showing is this:

We are running v5.6.03 on Win2k3 in a Exchange/Active directory, SQL2005 environment.

thanks for any help.
I am running 5.6 and have been having this problem from 5.1 through 5.5.

The problem happens when our Sysaid server is restarted. Once Sysaid is back up and running, it seems to have an old and/or currupted set of preferences.

The integration settings, routing, users, helpdesk settings, page designs are gone or an old setting. Strangely, items like custom statuses, and asset settings are fine.

This is the third server Sysaid has been on, somehow this old settings (the helpdesk user and password in the integration to be specific) are following it along.

If have found some of these settings in C:\Program Files\SysAidServer\root\WEB-INF\conf\serverConf.xml. I assume the Sysaid is loading from there, I used ProcessMonitor when I restarted the sysaid server to see if it tried to access that file but it doesn't (AFAIK).

How does this happen? It is in production so I can't do too much experimentation.
5.6.03.

Is there a way to clean the incoming email?

thanks
I was wondering about them too.

They are made everything you make a config change. I've tried to restore them to the /WEB-INF/conf where the live accountConf.xml lives, but it has no effect.
Thanks for the info.

I got a wrap-up question.

Whats the difference between these:

-Send email notification to the submit user.
-Email responsible when a Service Request changes.
-Email notification on new Service Request with priority
-Email notification to end user when [...]

thanks
Yes, I've been looking around in there.

The problem is they are getting it two times instead of just once. Could it be an overlapping setting somewhere?
