Thanks

We went from 6.5 to 7.0.0.4 and I did the following pre upgrade.
-turn off sysaid server service
-turn off sysaid agent
-backup ilient dB for whatever platform you use
-Installed the new version
-Turned the services back on
thats it and it is working fine

Tech account = Just workstation installations
Admin account would be used for the server installations
Local admin accounts would be used for partner companies if they needed to remote install SW

HRC wrote:Jane, I think you're taking a very complex approach to something that doesn't necessarily require it. You can run Sysaid on 2 servers, running 2 instances however it seems needlessly complex. My last suggestion (i feel) would still be ideal.
2 first level categories delivers the ease of use that your users want as well as the simplicity that you want.

Are main administrator password has been comprimised, so we have created a new one. At this point we also want to set up a technician account in AD for SW installs, giving folder permissions, etc. (should have already had this )
What would everyone recommend as the best group level to add this technician account to.
Thanks

Carl Lewis, what can I say. This was great a great selection for a motivational speaker at the conference. Sometimes you need to be reminded that you are pursuing a career to be of service to your family and others. The day to day grind will cloud your vision if you let it.

John Dix was a great forum moderator and the CIO's were well informed. Each one had a different view for the questions posed to them and where they wanted their companies to be with the emergin technologies.
thank you for setting this portion of the conference up.
