Thanks for all the input...
My apoligy too to SysAid support who I failed to follow up.
But this is something different.
The mail client containing the sysaid link is an app access through citrix.
Something change on the citrix server that failed this.
It works fine if that link is click on the citrix server.

But on the client, still not working...

Strangest thing is my using citrix is not recent.
It worked before.
Is ${LinkToSurvey} still works ?
Actually any link to sysaid on the e-mail that used to work now default to the main url after upgrade to version 8. Like a link back to SR.

What's the browser setting prerequisite in order for links to sysaid object to work ?

It's more an omen than deja vu to me... Lifshitz.
*smile*

I've never bring myself confident enough to deploy the remote control feature in sysaid, now with mobile capability, I grew even pessimistic I'd ever use it. But you're right... I don't think it's a choice anymore.

So help me :
Please add "providing high quality security and high availability features/controls" into those objectives.

If you will not do it yourself don't pick a partner to do it... design the product to play with ANY solutions in those areas out there.

Even with IPv6 and cloud computing we are still stuggling with those two quite fiercely and lose (judging from the lulz we're having the past months).

Malware is now targeting not only non-windows products but thanks to convergence technology they find their ways to infrastructure like voice and scada devices as well, something once pretty shut-off in closed network.

SysAid is not like any other information system. It is the information system for infrastructure. The crucial importance of those two sectors can not be over stressed. Innovations on those two areas will not only determine if sysaid is in it's own class or it's just "another IT solution" but more importantly will show how much illient values the customers which already a trademark.....

for now.

May the source be with you,
*Slight bow smile*
No.

Whether server checkin on client or client pushing out stats will yield the same result
BUT
I think client pushing stats out is bad idea because:
1. It will impact on performance somehow
2. I will have difficulties recognizing exploits on the client side. Traditionally anything out is bad.
3. I lose the god-like power provided by centralized architecture. I no longer can initiate checks centrally.

As for flooding you need to sit back and contemplate what monitoring means. Question you must ask is : Does client downtime matters to you ? Some client probably may have zero downtime requirement. You then will be able to prioritize.

Prolong the time between check to cut down the data volume for low priority client. And leave the setting alone for high priority one.
Sounds like browser conflict with windows... when you got an error does it offer to send the error ? try peek on it to see what causing the quirks.
Ooo and check the event viewer.
Unless the subject is change yes... the number will be the same.
When the login failed what is the error message ?

The username matters.
Maybe something like this or this happen
I manually deleted huge number of SR with certain user and use the toggle all button to manage the load and all of my active SR were deleted.

I couldn't have mistakenly push the select all button because those sr am deleting got new for status and was not deleted. If I did mistakenly use the select all thing while the active status was on all that's left should be closed one. But I got closed and new ones.

Could it be cause by something I had locally... anything is possible.
But for now... this is all I know.

Be careful.
It happened.
Physical perimeter is not enough...
Stuff like dropbox makes the usb virtual.
*sigh*
Do a port scan internally ... you sure it was not used by other ?
Is there a way to by pass both router and firewall, just to test the server is ok.
If without firewall and router it works fine we can concentrate on router and or firewall.
what is the error message ?
Die iPhone die !!!
I'm having second thought of this...
I might be too into my own routine when I wrote it.

I realized much of what I asked there are something what sysaid agent would typically do. There are always exceptions though, as to what devices can be monitor with tools like sysaid. To these devices I have to do things the old fashioned way. And since the sysaid portal itself is very accesible I prolly wrote it out of my wish to use sysaid as an "offline" maintenance tool...

many thanks for the attention lev.
Forgive the confusion.
Just in case somebody had enough remembering names and go practical by using their serial numbers...

BAD IDEA.

Server name must NEVER be numbers. Especially in windows environtment.
Gadgetdome like Japan's Akihabara
