Jane,
To upgrade, download and install the patch from the link below:
http://helpdesk.ilient.com/CustomPage.jsp?pageName=download.html&fileName=SysAidServerPatchv7.0.04.exe&EndUserLink
The installation won't ask about database, it will only upgrade the current installation, then contact SysAid Support to help with the database move.

Your best option would be to upgrade to 7.0 and then contact SysAid Support and ask them to help you convert your db to SQL. They will also help you move to IIS if you need help with that. It will not need a fresh installation.

I have had that bug a couple of times. Haven't worked out the cause yet though.

@Devin @Nakai,
This is possible. Please follow the following process:
1. From the List Screen, select the blue cog from the top of the screen, and remove the Title from the right hand list.
2. Open a SR.
3. When in the SR, select the same cog from the top of the screen. From here, select the Title Field.
4. From the bottom of the page, change the settings so that the field is not compulsory for any status.
5. Remove the field from the list.
That will remove the field from the Administrator Portal. I believe that to remove it from the End User Portal you will have to change the HTML code for that page, although someone else may come in and prove me wrong...

He's not a real IT Hero!
His suite is too well pressed, trousers not worn at the knees and his shoes are in far too good condition! :-p

The worry is when you have moments when you realise you have acted just like Moss, i.e. Actually turning round, guffawing and telling someone memory is RAM. Classic!

I can still access it from the menu at the top of the page. Or this address http://www.ilient.com/Sysforums/forums/show/101.page

How many assets are you running Ola? I would imagine that it is because with a high number of assets there is a lot more information to load than most of the other screens which is causing this slow-down. Not sure whether there is anything you can do about that...

Just to let you all know, been following these two (as well as Joe the IT Guy) on twitter for Day 1 and it is all very exciting and seems to be going well!
Jealousy mounting!

@Obelix - His problem, I believe, is allowing users without a VPN to log a ticket, or those who do to do it when the VPN is connected.
@Ola - I believe your best bet is putting the SysAid server onto a web server, or opening your routers and NAT the appropriate port to your internal server address.

Hi Everyone,
I am running SysAid on Windows Server 2008 with a SQL 2005 Database. I have Reporting Services installed for another database running on this server and was wondering whether I would be able to use Reporting Services for use with the SysAid database or not.
This is probably a question more aimed at SysAid directly, but I am also interested to see whether any other SysAiders have set up Reporting Services directly into the SysAid tables.

Dear All,
I am interested to know which of us in the community are regular twitter users. As you may know, I am unable to attend the conference, and thought twitter would be a great way to keep all of us unfortunate enough not to be in Vegas next weekend informed. Techguy, it could be your way of expanding your empire beyond the wiki and Forum Mod!
What fun it will be to sit here in the office checking SysAid and seeing pictures of Saar and Oded buying the beers for everyone, or maybe pictures of Joseph's night out in the Las Vegas clubs! Plus! I think it would be very cool to get the SysAid Technology Conference as a trending topic on twitter next weekend! =)
Your thoughts?

@mikeybt - Yes it can. The system is fully customisable via the HTML files, although not recommended by SysAid. To completely rebrand the site would be a massive job, and you have to be very careful not to affect the running of the application.

Ola,
I would agree with David Porterfield. It can create security issues and tickets can still be submitted via email/phone.
Alternatively, if you are running a web server, you could implement through here. Although there is communication into the network from the DMZ, this is through only one source, as you add a communication machine into Network Discovery to run the agent into an external network.
I am not sure how well I have explained that, but I have tried!
Good Luck Ola!
