After upgrading Sysaid to 8.5.05, any new user we create in AD gets "DOMAIN\username" instead of "username" for their username field, the rest of the fields are importing correctly.
Is there any settings that I should be looking for to make sure all new users are the same as the other 150 we have in there? I couldnt find anything after 2 test users and browsing every option in Sysaid.

Thanks,
Thank you for the additional information.

Although we tried changing the Machine ID in the Sysaid Agent Registry key, doing so caused the asset tracking to start overwriting other similar machines and forgetting the service requests on the machines we edited.

I have not tried Editing the Dell Computer Registry Serial number. I see it on my own Dell system, i will have to see if that same entry is on these old systems and give that a try.
Anyone have any insight in to How to change how an asset is tracked? We really need to get these Assets tracked the same way via the Dell service Tag and not have some tracked via serial number and some via mac address and others via whatever else is used to track a machine.

Thanks,
Gabriel Dudley
I looked around to see if there was an explanation on how exactly assets are tracked (serial, mac, name, etc), mainly via the sysaid agent, but I guess SNMP to a lesser extent as well.

Background Info to help clarify the question:
We have some old Dell machines, whos MWIC bios number is completely wrong or missing (dells way is normally the service tag as the serial).
So we have some Machines who's Serial number that Sysaid uses to track is the mac address I believe; (**-**-1F-D8-F8-D.
I found the Dell Service Tag and decided to manually edit the registry MachineID Tag to the Serial (DELL-**TVM51), exactly as it is listed for 250 of our other machines.
Upon the machine updating, it told sysaid it was now a PC with the Serial of (1111111), and our current PC, whos Serial was already 1111111 was updated with all the new information from the machine I Changed the registry Key for.

So the Big question is. How does changing the MAchineID in the registry of one, cause it to use the WMIC bios information next, and overwrite a machine who already has the WMIC bios information in sysaid. Both the machines are the same "type" Dell Optiplex GX280, but each have different names, mac addresses, IPs and subnets, software, Bios Versions, Memory, and CPU.
And I have about 30 more machines whos ID is their MAC address that I would like to track as their Dell Serial tag like all the others, how can i make this happen?
I have also just noticed these after upgrading to 7.5.06. We are having trouble getting assets to update properly after a move to a 2008 server and a redeploy of the agent with a new shortcut name only. Would these .agent files be related to the asset problem we are having?

Thanks,
Gabriel
1) Clicked on the Manager Portal
2) Clicked on Design Reports
3) Clicked on Report Wizard
4) First entity is "Asset", Seconday entity "None" and typed in a caption and clicked Next
5) Selected "Name" and "Activity Log" as the output fields. No groups were defined and clicked Next
6) Chose the "group" filter.
7) Clicked Finish.
Went to the Analyzer to run the report

Here's the report.

Hello,

I'm running 7.5.05. When I design a report that includes the Activity Log the column for it shows N/A. Is there something I'm missing or is this a known analyzer issue?

Gabriel
Thanks. That worked!
Here are my first level categories (below). I just ran a report from the "Active Requests" one that's already included in SysAid. They show up fine here. The report above shows my third level categories but I chose the first category in the report wizard. The Sub Category and Third Level Category output fields show up fine, the only issue is the first level category is pulling the third category list which is very weird.

1) Clicked on the Manager Portal
2) Clicked on Design Reports
3) Clicked on Report Wizard
4) First entity is "SR", Seconday entity "None" and typed in a caption and clicked Next
5) Selected "Category (Service Requests)" as the output field. No groups were defined and clicked Next
6) No filters defined. I clicked Finish
7) Went to the Analyzer to run the report

Here's the report. Click on it to maximize.

Hello,

Seems we have a little quirk when we design a report. After designing a report our first level category is actually pulling the third level category. This happens to any report we try to design. Only the default reports that come when you install Sysaid show the first level category correctly when they are run. Not sure if this is a bug or if something else needs to be done to get it to pull the right category. I'm running 7.5.05 and using the Derby DB.

Actually SysAid is monitoring the different partitions on my servers C:, D:, E: etc. Note the image below. The free space column is still showing N/A when I try to run a report. However it does show it on the asset list page. Since sysaid is monitoring different partitions is there a way to have the analyzer generate a report on those partitions? I've tried creating one via the report wizard but I don't see any columns that would report the space on each partitions. Is this possible?

Here it is: Free space is showing N/A. Is it possible to show the free space of the C Drive?

Hello,

I'm trying to do two things:

1) List the free space available - When I chose this field after creating a report the column shows N/A. I'm wondering why there is no data?
2) I want to be able to see the disk capacity and usage by partition. Is the possible?
Hello,

Can someone tell me how to change the HTML format of the NEW and MODIFIED email notifications? I know how to change the HTML format of ESCALATION notifications but I can't find where I need to go to change the NEW and MODIFIED emails.
