iPad's are now being used as a study resource within the classroom environment, and we are about to investigate a pilot scheme here, so any link with SysAid for asset management would be good.
Hi,

I imagine it would be possible, the Asset Custom Notes under the Maintenance tab is where you could put details like 'Hard Disk Defragged', and this is time & date stamped because it is visable as a change on the History tab.

It's not a perfect solution, but is is a work around for the moment, and i'm sure something could be coded to deliver the feature you're requesting, as the data could be there via the Asset Custon Notes box or something similar.

Paul
I have just found the answer under Tasks/Projects thanks to the very helpful post by Sarah, and that should solve the issue!

Unfortunately they would like it incorporated into the helpdesk statistics.
Hi M,

That could be a possible way of recording it, but it was more of the backup process that a member of staff has to complete that they want recorded on a daily basis.

Checking backup logs & recording the details
Changing the backup tapes & storing them in the fire proof safe

The reason behind this is that there are a few daily standard tasks that are not currently recorded on SysAid, and it would make the jobs open/closed per administrator report more accurate if these could be added, plus it is another audit trail, with the backup details logged by the administrator in the service request.

Paul
Hi,

We have been asked by senior management here to record the daily backup task as a service request on SysAid, and I was wondering how other SysAiders tackle this repetitive task?

Paul
I have to agree with Haim & Saar, my iPhone 3G is the most used gadget, and best of all it get free updates with new features every so often.

I used to have nothing but Nokia's, but they've been a bit 'buggy' over the last few years, and nothing on the market compares to the quality/funtionality of the iPhone. my father has the new HTC with I believe the google software (but he'd rather have an iPhone - but Vodafone doesn't have it yet!)

Other favorite gadget has to be a DSLR camera.

I thought the webinar was very good in demonstrating some on the core new features in SysAid 6, and I'm looking forward to the ITIL webinar that was mentioned.

The presentation was nicely balanced, with no emphasis on hard selling the product to the audience, and that made a nice change (usually these online events end up as a sales medium).

The question & answer session at the end was also appreciated.

We're a high school in the uk with 5 IT support staff (including myself) supporting 9 Servers, approx. 450 desktops/laptops, projectors in every classroom, Interactive whiteboards, and just over 1000 users (rising to over 1250 users in 2010/2011).
