We just rolled out iPads to our entire field staff and would love a better way of tracking them.

It would add emails on the messaging tab. Not the notes. For notes to be populated they must go through the portal.

Are they maintaining the service ticket number in the subject field?
Also, are they emailing you back directly or using your integration mailbox. I notice that you can use the individual admin address to send from if you so choose. In order to keep in the integration you would need to not use the individual admin address but instead use the integration mailbox to send all messages from so that responses go back there with ticket number in the subject still.

what is wnware?
With it being a virtual machine it sounds like what are the Guest OS's?
How were they created.
If it was Windows and they were cloned then they were probably not sysprepped to prepare them with new SIDs which would identify them as the same machine thus only one workstation in your list.
Hope that helps,

We have been manually adding iPads to our inventory and would love to see some sort of agent for the iPad that could be run in the background or on occasion to update the system automatically. Possibly have the app send an update if it used to view the end user portal or submit a ticket.....

This might seem straightforward, but has the user been assigned an asset?
Under Asset Management the user needs to be assigned to a device in order for remote control to know where to connect to I believe.
Hope that helps.

With ESXi 5.0 beeing released has anyone included any servers into their asset lists yet?
I am wondering if there is a best practice out there that any virtualization folks have found to have sysaid update with the asset. If it is SNMP or an Agent Solution I am open to it all.
I am currently running 4.1 but will be upgrading to 5.0 soon.
Thanks in advance!

The only way is to delete the Administrator (this will not lose history) If you are using LDAP then it will be brought back in as a user on your next sync or their next login whichever comes first.
I have had to do this before.
Hope this helps.

Has there been testing of the agent with Mac OS X Lion? I just updated two machines and noticed that the OS did not update in Sysaid. I will be trying a new installation today (reformatting first install due to an issue with installing server on it) so will test fresh installing today but wondering if anyone has had any luck with this so far....
Thanks,
Don

I'm seeing this same issue in that whenever we try to encrypt the connection we get a popup saying that it is not encrypted!
Is there a fix that we can do or is this on the Radar to get fixed soon. Very Urgent for us!

Previous to 8.0 I had thought that the user field was searchable when assigning an assett to a ticket.
That was INCREDIBLY useful when sorting through the assets to find the users computer.
Is there a way to reenable this?
Thanks!

You have to delete the user and reimport them as a standard user. It does not lose the history. I just had to do it also!

I haven't seen this in the threads yet, so thought I would ask about it.
I have been using the Remote Control Feature for Windows 7 clients with version 7.0.0.5 and have had a problem with escalated programs. I am unable to see the prompt for escalations and when the programs are escalated I lose control of the mouse and keyboard until the escalated program is closed. Once it is closed I regain control. Is there a fix in the works or am I the only one seeing this issue. Windows 7 is both 64 bits for sure. Don't remember if I've tried on a 32 bit machine yet.
Thanks!
Don

Before I started they had been doing Greek Gods, but nobody new could keep track of what server did what so we went to functional names. Boring but very useful when troubleshooting what server does what.

I have a case in to support now and will try to update this post with the findings!
