No one has any good or bad things to say about version 3.0?

How does SysAid know if they are doing good things, or if there is more the customers want

how are others finding the new features functionality of Version 3.0 of Sysaidcss?
I am a big fan of Sysaidcss and promote if where ever I can, but I am struggling with some of the new features of version 3.0 and they have slowed down my workflow when loggin new faults etc.

The two things I have an issue with are:
1. The "Advanced Dropdown Menues", these are a real pain to use, and find them to not always work. Why would I want an advanced search drop down menu when the drop down contains "Open" and "Closed". When I click on this drop down it automatically opens the size of maybe 10-15 items but all blank, then resizes to the size of the actual content (2 items) plus the "Advanced Search", this takes only 1 sec, but it is a pause in my work flow, and happens to every drop down when entering a fault, so at least 5secs added already. But worse still is the fact that I cannot use the keyboard to select items. I used to tab to the next field/dropdown menu, hit "C" to select "Closed" and tab to the next field/dropdown. I now have to reach over to my mouse, move the cursor to the drop down menu and click it, then click again, or go back to keyboard and start with a few keys to get the selection. Why should I now have to start using the mouse to select items from the list, this is a huge slow down! I also find many times typing in some chars and hitting enter does nothing, so have to click on the advanced search to get some results, then clcik the one I want from there. 2. Filtering. Previously there where field at the top of the screen so I could click a dropdown menue and select a status of Open, and the result would be a list of only open jobs (my main view, as closed jobs are not really a priority). To achieve this same result, I need to have the "Status" column displaying all the time, just so I can use the column to filter the results. So now I have a column taking up 2inches of my screen all with the same word repeated "OPEN"...why should I have to display all these "OPEN"s just to be able to filter by status. Not impressed Ilient, not impressed at all.

The thing that also bugs me, is these changes are not even consistant. If you look at the other parts of SYSAIDCSS you do not see any advanced search dropdown menues, and status filters at the top remain, so why are they so clunky in the Service Request area.

This is my 2cents. I look forward to any other good or bad feedback regarding the Version 3.0 release

Yes this is the Pro version. As I mentioned I do not have any access or control over the exchange server, so unable to make any changes there. I thought due to the iPhone being able to sync, that maybe SysAidCSS would be able to.

We have just started using the new version of Sysaidcss today after it had been upgraded over the weekend, and we are finding it very slow and clunky. Parts of the site seem fine, but the main fault logging part is causing us to take a breath and count to 10 each time we click anything.
The advanced drop downs are extremely troublsome, with the drop down taking longer to apear, then displaying blank default size, them populating and resizing to fit the content. It is very clunky and screams of a beta or pre release product, not something that has gone through years of iterations and upgrades.

I am a big SysAidCSS fan, and promote it where I can, but dispite the the feature "improvements" version 3.0 comes with, it feels very much like a backwards step.

I hope the devalopment team can fix the issues with this release.

Now that versino 3.0 of Sysaidcss is out, I would expect the documentation on your site to refect this change, but it does not.
If I go to the www.sysaidcss.com site for information on the new version, there is only information about the earlier versions 2.5, 2.0 and 1.5 (www.sysaidcss.com/contact_support.htm).

The user manual has not been updated for almost a year and a half, so does not reflect the current version, so is almost obsolete. So the new and altered features in 3.0, how does one find out more about them, how to best use them, or do we just "trial and error" till we break something then ask for sysaid support to fix it?

The documentation of the Sysaidcss product seems to be left in the dark, along with its customers. I know sysaidcss is not the main product for ilient, but still needs some attention.

Version 3.0 of SysaidCSS is now apon us, and I for one hae a few questions.

1. How do I now display only the active Faults? Previously there was a drop down box allowing you to select any of the statuses, so you could just focus on the active ones etc. I have found that you can kind of do this by selecting the "Select All tick box, and then optins apaear allowing to do some filtering. This is not something I want to have to do all the time. I want to only see active jobs unless I specify otherwise, how do I now do this?

2. Why is the width of the display fixed now? previously I could have the full with of my screen showing the columns of the faults, but there is now a large empty area on the right. Yes I can resize columns which is awesome, but I now have less space for the columns. Why the limited width? When the page is loading it is full width, but goes back to a limited witdth once the page finishes loading, so seems to be CSS driving the width.

Its a bit late now, as the auto upgrade to 3.0 happens this weekend, but I has emailed to get the beta upgrade, and was emailed back asking if I would like the production or a test site upgraded. I said I would like a test site created to test the beta.
I was then emailed saying it had been done, and I was given the URL, but it was no different.

I am still unable to test this Beta, as the test site still seems to be running 2.5, and I do not know what the new features are, so not sure what I should be testing even if I could.
A little help please ilient.

I have just received an email saying I now have a test version of our production environment that is using the Beta 3 version.
I have logged into this address (containing the "beta") and it still says it is version 2.5.01.

Can you also point me toward the new features of the 3 Beta.

I am trying to get SysAidCSS to sync with our corporate exchange server, but as yet have not been successful.
I do not have any control over the exchange server, as we are a team separate from the corporate IT team.
But our small team have been able to set up our iPhones to sync with the exchange server, and they can use any network to do this, so had hope that SysAidCSS would also be able to sync.

Is there something I'm missing to get this exchange syncing to work?

does anyone know a way of sorting, filtering, listing or showing items by the number of Service Requests they have been involved in?

It would be nice to list items and then sort by # of Service Requests, and see the 'trouble makers' at the top.

sorry, but I dont think there is anyone out here. I have also posted for some help, but no bites yet, so I sent the request to the help desk and its now day 4 and one request for update and still no word.
up until now I have been pretty happy with the support I have recieved, but I have noticed a decline, and have also noticed others have been mentioning the lack of support.

I have recently imported our Equipment Database (clunky 2500 row excel spreadsheet) into SysAidCSS. That was 'fun' in its self, but got it all in, and works fine.

I am now linking these items when a support call comes in, so we get a track of how many calls we get associated with particular equipment or "Items" in sysaid.

I am finding attaching an item very frustrating... I open a SR and put in the details etc, then click on the "Item Attachment" "Change" button which opens a popup window where I then find the item and select it...this is the frustrating part.

There are drop down fields at the top "Item Type" "Status" "Owner" "Location" "Category" "Sub Category" where I can filter the equipment/items.
Three of the fields seem to be dynamically pre selected (Location, Category and Sub Category), sometimes I think it is looking at what I have selected in the SR, and other times it is just the previous selection I made when I was in this window last.
Either way it is ALWAYS! wrong, and I have to change all three feilds before I can just use the filter search box.

What I want is for it to see what location I have selected in the SR, and list only the items at that location.

Is this posible, if not, can it then show the default ALL equipment and then I can add filters as I wish, rather than always having to reset all the fields to then search...very annoying process.

For the first question, yes you can replace the names of almost any text in the entire software, and I do it regularly. I actually call "Relation Mapper" "Inventory" because relation mapper doesnt really mean anything to me.
To do it...
1. go to "Preferences", then "Customize" and select the "Translate" tab
2. download the "sysaid_text_en_NZ.css.utf8.properties" file. (this is a plain text, may have slightly differernt name due to country, language etc)
3. make a backup of this file incase bad things happen
4. use any text editer to do find and replaces for the text you want to change. (eg replace "Item Cust Text 1" with "ADSL Details")
5. now back in the Translate tab of customise, you can upload this edited translate file.
6. you should now see you text where the old text was.

For your second question, to populate the "Location" field...
1. go to "Preferences", then "Customize" and select the "Customize Lists" tab (selected by default)
2. In the "List" drop down, select "Location"
3. Now add key and Caption for the locations you want. I have over 150 locations in this list.
4. remember to click the save button at the bottom (regularly)
5. you query about associating account to different locations. I have never done it, but I believe you can, as you can associate the location to a user group, so you could have your acconts in groups. you might have to have a wee play with that one yourself.
