Lately I've been playing World of Warcraft as well.
Lvl 80 Shaman, Tauren, kicking everyone's ass on the way xD
Also playing Left 4 Dead, and making a map for it based on my college, seems like it will be goooood!
Which realm do you play? (everyone who replied saying you play WoW as well)
I play on The Venture Co.

Hey all!
I also love my job, and it started literally by installing and configuring SysAid here in the company, and that made the work here waaaay easier. No longer running around to attend to SRs around.
Unfortunatelly we still use the free version, as I still couldn't get the company to get the full version, therefore I dont know if I'm eligible for a mug or a t-shirt (would seem even like a 'smart-*ss', I mean... not paying but asking), but I would really love to have some coffee on those mugs.
I might even pay for one, if that would make up for the 'free version'
Is it possible?
(and I'd post up a picture with it too, I'd be pleased to do so )

Well, you can always use the 2nd button on the upper menu to filter by date.
I use that on Firefox 3.0+ and it works fine.

I'M not using the translation file. The problem occur at any text box when an administrator write something, like a solution, for example.
Thanks.
Hey Marcel,
Sorry for the late response.
Is the "encoding" field you configured in SysAid is UTF-8 both in preferences > my settings and under preferences > account defaults?
If so, please open a service request on this issue since this can be a database encoding.
Best regards.

Today I decided to take the day 'off' to fix my Encoding problem, and I can say I finally did it. Working as intended now.
When I made it work and came here to post what I did, I saw a post you made a long time ago, saying what to do, but I didn't see it before.
The Translation file I was using was not on utf-8 encoding, so it was most likely on conflit with SysAid configuration.
I'd suggest you take a look at the Portuguese-BR translation file that Ilient is developing, as I'm using that one, uploaded here on the forums by one of Ilient's staff, and its this one that wasn't utf-8. (not a critic, but a suggestion about something I noticed).
The problem here was only this, but as the file was provided by Ilient, it didn't come to my mind that this could be the cause.
My last problem on SysAid was solved ^^ yay!

Também estou com o mesmo problema com os caracteres especiais.
Alguma idéia?
Bom dia, provavelmente você resolverá seu problema mudando a codificação.
Depois de fazer o Update do arquivo de tradução;
=============================================
Here it won't work, even both Codings in pt-br-iso-8859-1.
I believe the problem is on MySQL encoding, as its utf8.
I can't find solutions for this.
I already tried utf8 on SysAid Acc defaults and My Settings, in vain.

I still couldn't make it work. Can't find any logic on this issue...

And when I save it, it turns out like this

The account defaults does not effect how you see the system but the defaults of the system.
if you change the encoding in preferences > my settings to UTF-8, do you see the users requests correctly?
If i remember correctly, you had an issue with UTF-8 where the interface was having the same character issue.
The attached translation file should resolve this issue.
Please replace it with the current translation and let me know if this resolve this issue
best regards,
Haim
Yep it was me having that issue indeed...
This translation file you attached didn't solve it, but complicated even more, making the special characters not show even on Admin side of SysAid, so I had mine put back there again.
I did change it do UTF-8 to see if it fixed with your new translation, but it didn't as well.
This is the problem, let me 'ilustrate' a bit better.

No thoughts? xP

May I take this oportunity to ask if the problem I have with the special characters on SysAid are due to Apache and Mysql being set to utf-8 and my SysAid as pt-br-iso-8859-1?
If I set Account Defaults and My Settings to utf-8, the special characters on SysAid itself turns into "?"
Right now, the special characters works perfectly on SysAid messages, but when an end user submits a SR, its format is screw'd on Submit, and its saved with a lot of "?" in the words, making it sometimes harder to read the problem than to solve it x.x
edit: I just tried changing the Account Default only to utf-8 and no good, nothing changed.

Haim wrote:Alexandre,
Please remove the checkbox from "Case insensitive login names" in preferences > account defaults and then ask the users to log in.
This is a known issue when SysAid is installed with MySQL when this checkbox is checked.
Best regards.
Haim
Yay it worked!
Thanks a lot, SysAid staff =]
You really know your stuff ^^ thanks a lot, indeed

Sure, here it is ^^ and yes, its running on MySql indeed
Thanks for the attention

If so, can you please post a screenshot of Preferences > Account Defaults for further review.
