Same problem here. We only use the Knowledge Base for Admins. Over the years we have filled the KB with links to online tech guides as well as
links to things stored in local shared folders.
All of our Admins need to be able to view them in READ mode, but still to be able to create/edit/delete items.

I have redirected the "Activities" button in the Help Desk to the End User Knowledge Base (FAQ.jsp) so our Admins can quickly view the Knowledge Base in VIEW mode from the Help Desk module. (we don't use the Activities Menu)
I changed the link by editing helpdeskmodulemenu.html, but I can't figure out how to change the name of the button. I want to change it from "Activities" to "View Knowledge Base"

I want the Title to appear in the Subject line, but only when the Service Request has been closed.

Hi everyone.
I'm trying to change the subject line of the automatic email notifications to end users so that when a work order is closed, a line of text can be inserted in to the subject line, along with the basic notification.
I just want a reminder for staff to fill out the survey.
The reason is that most of the time, my staff just delete the email without reading it, so all they are seeing is the subject. So I'd like to remind them that the survey is enclosed.
I have had trouble using an #If statement in the subject line and wanted to know if it is possible.

We used to have trouble with Remote Control, but since the new Remote Control Gateway feature, it has been working perfectly for us across all Operating Systems.....

Thank you for replying. I checked all of the settings you suggested and they were all set to English.
I did come accross something though-I logged in to Sysaid with a different Admin account and made changes to the translate file, and the changes were visible to everyone, even myself. But again, if I make the changes logged in with my account, I appear to be the only user that can view those changes.

So I just discovered that all the customizing I've been doing this week may only be visible to me.
I did some changes to the tranlate file and edited our notificaitons, and I just noticed that the other technicians don't see any of the updates!
For example I changed the name of the Description field to "problem needing resolution", and I can see the updated field name, but no one else can.

Anything new on this? Any workaround yet? We really need this view to be collapsed by default. Otherwise our end users will never look through it.

Trying to set up SMS messaging. I received the attached instructions from RedOxygen that were specifically created for Sysaid, but I am not having any success.
When I try to send a message, I see the following error in the sysaid log file:
2011-03-18 14:41:47,844 [http-8080-16] ERROR com.ilient - Exception
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.ilient.util.RedOxygenSMSProvider
I have requested a ticket with Sysaid support but thought I'd throw it out here too.

Just wondering if this is a possibility.
I'd like an asset's location to be automatically determined based on it's ip address. Is there a way to add any logic behind the scenes for the location field?
