I have a huge problem: I want to upgrade agents on my network, but I have a number of machines, where the Remote Registry has completely disappeard. It is not listed in the services.msc anymore, which prevents me from upgrading/deploying agents to those machines. We use Windows 7 Professional X64 only.
Currently I don't have a clue what caused the Service from vanishing nor how to get it back without reinstalling the whole machine.

I tried that one too, also sysaid deploy...but I have a feeling it will all come down to the same problem...and neither worked on those machines so far

We have some XP-Computers running, but the majority is now Win7 x64 Professional. All in all we have around 150 computers runnning. Out of these 150 there are about 30 who won't let me upgrade the agent from 7.5.03 to 8.5.04. I did some research and found out that it relates to remote registry. So I checked those computers only to find out, that under services, there is no service for remote registry listed! I compared this to the computers, where the upgrade was successful and the service was there.
So right now I'm a bit mystified as to how come the service is not registered on those computers and how to get it back...short of reinstalling everything.
Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.
