This doesn't seem to have been mentioned much on the forums, as far as I can tell from a search. What I'd love to see is the option to save filters, particularly in the Asset Management module. I'm working on replacing a lot of equipment, and I've built up quite a complicated asset filter with several lines to identify those items which should be replaced. But if I need to reset the filter to look at something else, I need to recreate it from scratch every time. It would be great if there was a way to save a filter (other than specifying it in a custom view, which is quite fiddly) for future use.
It's a good tip, but unfortunately it doesn't work! Not for the SystemList page, anyway.
I was playing around with the Customize View filter options and accidentally created a filter which can't be displayed. I just get blank screen with the words 'Internal error' at the top, and no option to re-customize the view. How can I reset the filter? Even better, is there a config file I can restore from my backup tape from a few days ago which will restore the filter back to the way I had it?

It might be a useful option if the Preferences tab had an option to 'Reset Filters' to help stupid people like me!
v8.0.06 - You're looking at all my problems today!
Well I did not know that - thanks for the tip!!
Sorry if this has been posted already, but I did a search and couldn't find it.

I have a lot of different locations in my database (over 100), and many more users. In my asset list, if I choose the dropdown filter in the column heading of the Location or Owner fields, only the first few dozen items are listed. So I can't use the dropdown filter for any user with a name beginning with 'D' or after. It wouldn't be quite as bad if there was an option at the top or bottom of the list for 'More...' that brought up the full user search window.

With location I have the same problem but it's worse in some ways because the list isn't even sorted alphabetically, even though in the Customize page I have sorted the Location list by 'Caption' and not 'Key'. It's sorted alphabetically everywhere else.
Ok, so I could be doing it wrong, but a current gripe is that if I'm raising a new SR and I click on the Change button next to Main Asset to select the asset with the problem, when I search in the list of assets that pops up the search only seems to look in the Asset Name field. In previous versions of SysAid this list would default to listing assets belonging to the Request User, but that doesn't seem to happen any more, which would be fine, if I could enter the user's name in the search box that does appear and find their assets. Instead, if I search for username, location, etc., I get nothing. And since I hardly ever know the asset name all I can do is sort the list by the User column and go through pages of assets until I find the one I want.

Can't the search in this window be made to search all fields?
I'm afraid logging out and in hasn't fixed the problem.
Screenshot attached. This appears at the bottom of a list of 100 assets but still refers to there being more than 20.
Don't know if this is the way to report it but there's a tiny bug - not even that, just a typo - in the Asset Management module. Now that it's possible to have a custom number of assets shown by default in the Network Assets list the text at the bottom of the list should probably be changed as it still says "You have more than 20 assets associated to this group, to view the full list, please click the link below. " even though I've changed the default number to display to 100.

No biggy, just thought I'd mention!
Thanks very much, that's fixed it.

I love the idea of the app but I think at the moment the filters for the asset list and helpdesk aren't powerful enough to make it useful. For example, I'd like to be able to filter assets by location and be able to search them. But I'm sure you guys are working hard on it already and further improvements aren't far away!
Hi there,

I'm trying to use the SysAid app on my iPhone but when I go to the Assets tab all I get is a screen as shown in the attached photo. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Phil
Oops, I missed your reply to this! The problem seems to be happening with all of our assets. Is there a way to uninstall the agent on all clients and reinstall it from the server?
Greatly appreciated, thanks as always for the amazing willingness to listen to the user community and respond quickly.

When it's the full list, it takes forever to load, I'm personally happy with the truncated list. i understand my loading problems will be eliminated when we move to MSSQL, but until then...it takes a while.

I'm not suggesting removing the feature altogether, just having the option to disable it. I can see how it must be very beneficial for some people.
