Obelix wrote:Where's the "SysAid integration" ?
I like the idea where SysAid Compatibility or Incompatibility with other products be announced... from browser, O/S up to applications.
Thanks - accidentally deleted it - again this copy-paste .
The FAQ forum was aimed to provide tips from the support and directly to what Lev suggested.
I also advise you to track the tips from Sarah in the newsletters.
In any case we might start to publish them separately in the sub forums.
And the list again:
SysAid Newcomers
SysAid ITIL Best Practices
SysAid Integration
SysAid Next Level
Local forums
Known Issues
Beta issues
Helpdesk
Asset Management
Manager Portal
End User Portal
Monitoring
Tasks/Projects
Analyzer/Reporting
Thank you for all the comments - I appreciate your feedback !

Thank you, GBDiver.
As mentioned before, i do not think that breaking the forum into sub topics based on specific functionality is a bad idea.
I just think that it is too early to do it.
As I see it, the current sub forums will help to achieve it later.
There are 2 ways to test it, either wait and then divide, if necessary or divide and then merge, again if necessary.
We can go either way (I'm flexible here ) and do appreciate your opinions all.
Let's try and see the list then:
SysAid Newcomers
SysAid ITIL Best Practices
SysAid Next Level
Local forums
Known Issues
Beta issues
Helpdesk
Asset Management
Manager Portal
End User Portal
Monitoring
Tasks/Projects
Analyzer/Reporting

Obelix wrote:That said, I feel I need to remind everybody that we can always change things as we go. Getting it right the first time however preferred; is not a must.
Thank you, Obelix.
I completely agree - I think we can try and see how these forums divide the traffic and decide where to continue.
My feeling is that by dividing it to beginners and advanced implementation as well as specific integration forum - things will start gradually divide the right way and provide everyone the answers and information they are looking for.

Dear SysAiders, A Happy New Year from the team at SysAid. Speaking of new things, we've stepped into the first day of 2009 with a slight shift in our tagline. This represents another milestone in the SysAid brand evolution we initiated back in 2007, introducing the new SysAid look and feel, as well as logo, software interface and website. You might have already noticed the difference. Instead of our trademark 'Keep IT Simple', we've expanded into a fresher concept: 'IT's That Simple'. True, it's a subtle change, but as they say, great things come in small packages and we feel it aptly reflects the future direction of SysAid. We are scheduling major improvements in 2009 and will soon be launching new functionalities, including two cutting-edge ITIL modules: Change Management and Problem Management. This is part of our ongoing process of providing you with more comprehensive and wide-ranging IT Management solutions. And while SysAid advances, IT's still that simple. Simplicity and ease of use will continue to be at the core of the SysAid experience. The new modules are built and integrated into the same mechanism currently underpinning SysAid. Which means you'll keep enjoying the same intuitive interfaces while experiencing the same ease-of-use, seamless installation and smooth integration throughout all new developments. We believe IT's that simple. Stay tuned for more updates.

Thank you for the response!
Changing the forum to be feature based will make them too thin to my opinion.
However I do feel that the search should be improved to help track things and we will sure plan to do it, as well as the others improvements(hopefully sooner than later)
The beta forum sounds like something that could be great to implement and we'll add it.
The bugs forum is also something we'll try and start, at first stage maybe not for reporting but for better tracking fixed issues and things about to be fixed soon.
All - any other ideas ???
Wish you all Happy New Year !!!

As we feel our community is now pretty well established (thanks to the valuable contributions of our dedicated SysAiders), we've decided that it’s time to drive things forward and take it to the next level. Techguy has been requesting sub forums, and since this is in line with our plan for the evolution of the SysAid Community – it's time to make it happen. Here's a sneak peek at the new forums currently in the works, including their slick icons: 1. SysAid Newcomers – Everything you need to know to get started 2. SysAid ITIL Best Practices - CMDB, Change Management and beyond 3. SysAid Integration - SMS, E-mail, IIS, SSO, Database and more 4. SysAid Next Level - Implementation success stories 5. Local forums in different languages on translation issues and other local topics I'd love to hear your feedback on these topics and get your suggestions for others. Feel free to post any comment, suggestion or idea to this list – we will definitely consider any good idea! Our upcoming January newsletter will discuss in more detail how to become a SysAid Moderator. In general, 2009 looks to be a very exciting year not only for SysAid, but also for our SysAiders. And did I mention the sizzling new SysAid merchandise line? Stay tuned, more details coming soon. Looking forward to hearing from you! Happy Holidays, Saar

We are looking to swap our help desk software to SysAid.
Good call, I believe !
James wrote:
Is this possible in SysAid?
Yes - it is possible in SysAid where you can setup group of administrators each to handle their tasks as well as use different email addresses to route specific requests to the matching department.
I'd like to point you to an interesting Case Study we just shared recently which is related to this exact need.
Marvell uses SysAid to for almost all their department:
"In Marvell Israel, SysAid is not only used for IT Management. It has also been deployed for the Logistics & Facilities department supporting operation, furniture, air conditions, and also company vehicles, all are listed in SysAid. Almost all departments have it: R&D uses it as well as our test and validation labs. SysAid is in use for 3 years now to manage and track the development tools, CAD tools, Configuration Management and much more. Finance has also opted for SysAid after they saw its success."

In our continuous effort to improve SysAid and our ability to transparently share with you what is happening here, we have now moved the news from our website to the community.
This change will hopefully allow you to better catch up on the latest from SysAid, and will give you a better platform for comment on specific items.
We plan few more changes in the future, for example changing the blog to something more "blogish"-like , all aimed to enhance the SysAid experience!
So keep track on the SysAid latest news here at http://www.ilient.com/Sysforums/forums/show/105.page (you can RSS to it as well) and let us know what you think!
