Happy 2010 and a warm welcome to a new year of IT innovation and excellence!

As the SysAid product has grown and developed, so has the SysAid team. Over the past few years, our numbers have steadily increased and our office space finally reached full capacity. While we do enjoy each other's company, things were getting a bit too cozy, so we upgraded - offices, that is! Although our location has changed, our vision remains the same. With this expansion, we can deliver an even better product and provide you with the reliable and committed support you've come to expect from SysAid.

These changes coincide with a new year and new goals, and we have many exciting things lined up for 2010. We're currently planning one momentous event for this spring that will mark a new chapter in SysAid history! While I won't spoil the surprise yet, I promise that more details will be revealed in a week - you won't be disappointed!

We also begin 2010 with exciting new IT Benchmark results. Since the release of SysAid 6.5, almost 1,000 SysAiders have implemented this new module to better evaluate the performance of their IT departments. We have now gathered enough statistics to calculate the worldwide averages for many of the measurements, so at last you can compare your figures to the Worldwide Distribution Charts! To see a full list of the results, check out the IT Benchmark module for yourself!

Even amidst the boxes and bubble wrap of our move, the work never stops in the SysAid R&D department. With SysAid 6.5 just recently released, we've already developed a new minor release, SysAid 6.5.08. In addition to 30 bug fixes, SysAid 6.5.08 offers enhanced support for all you Mac users out there. Check out the release notes on our new support page to see exactly what's included in this minor release.

Last but not least, we decided that you should start 2010 with a bit of fun. Check out this month's riddle as well as Intel's IT Manager III: Unseen Forces - nobody said working in IT was easy, but somebody has to do it!

To see what else is going on here at SysAid, check out the first SysAid newsletter of 2010 and stay tuned for our suprise announcement!

Welcome to a new year of IT success with SysAid - it's going to be a good one!
IT Manager - Unseen Forces

This month, SysAid's Joke of the Month is actually a game! You are the IT manager of a small company with big ambitions. Your task: master and deploy the technologies your company needs. It's not going to be easy, but somebody has to do it!

For all of you hardworking IT professionals, we hope that the winter holidays provided you with the opportunity to get some much deserved rest and relaxation. In the demanding world of IT, the need to quickly resolve service requests and technical challenges never stops – even when you’re on holiday. For many of you, it’s probably not so easy to pry yourself away from work to enjoy some valuable vacation time. So what's the longest amount of time you've ever taken off?
We're happy to announce that SysAid 6.5.08, a new minor release, is now available. The major release of SysAid 6.5 went so smoothly that there were very few major issues that we needed to resolve. In addition to 30 bug fixes, this release provides better support for Apple users: the SysAid Mac agent now supports the attachment of screenshots to service requests as well as Mac OS Snow Leopard 10.6 and Mac OS Leopard 10.5. Furthermore, there is a different Mac agent to support earlier versions of Mac OS. These new features enhance the already powerful capabilities of our latest major release, SysAid 6.5. If you haven't yet upgraded to SysAid 6.5 for its 101 new features and 2 exciting new modules, you can get all of those functionalities plus additional bug fixes with this new minor release! Learn more about SysAid 6.5.08 and upgrade now!
Excellent songs, guys!

Now the real challenge: who's up for the "Twelve Days of Christmas"??

I'll get you started:

On the first day of Christmas
My colleague sent to me
A ticket with high urgency

On the second day of Christmas
My colleague sent to me
Two ...

As a truly momentous year at SysAid comes to a close, we want to say thank you for helping us make SysAid what it is today. We wish you a happy holiday season and a fantastic New Year!

While the polls are still open for the SysAid holiday logo to be displayed on our website, the leading contender right now is "The First Snow of the Winter." As much of the world is now covered in a blanket of snow, we decided to post it in the spirit of everything winter!

Happy holidays from the entire SysAid team - we look forward to helping you make 2010 a year of IT excellence!

As we approach the end of 2009, I think of what a tremendous year this has been here at SysAid. We've launched two major releases - first SysAid 6.0, and most recently SysAid 6.5 - and earlier this year, we released an entirely new product, SysAid CSS for customer service management. We've conducted several successful rounds of the SysAid Certification Program; we've hosted webinars with thousands of SysAiders in attendance; our growing customer base has reached the 55,000 mark. If these developments are any indicator of what's to come in future, then I truly look forward to 2010!

In preparation for the new year, this month is the time to learn how you can get the most out of the many features and two brand-new modules of our latest release, SysAid 6.5. As I mentioned previously, one of the most impressive features included in SysAid 6.5 is the new SysAid Chat module. SysAid Chat is completely integrated with the rest of SysAid, and it allows you to maximize all of SysAid's efficient helpdesk processes while providing your end-users with the individual and personalized attention they need.

This December, we're happy to provide you with resources that will help you maximize the new capabilities of SysAid Chat. On December 8, you'll be able to participate in another free live webinar, this time dedicated exclusively to the new SysAid Chat module. It's totally free and space is limited, so register now! To get an introduction to SysAid Chat, you can also check out this month's SysAid Chat Product Tutorial.

Last but not least, I want to congratulate the record number of SysAiders that are now participating in the SysAid Certification Program! With a special emphasis on the new tools included in SysAid 6.5, this course is essential to gaining the skills necessary for true IT success.

To see what else is going on at SysAid this month, check out the SysAid December Newsletter.

Enjoy the holidays have a happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Israel Lifshitz

It's finally November, and the wait is almost over! On November 10, you'll be able to upgrade to the next generation of SysAid with the official release of SysAid 6.5. Our SysAid Pathfinders have provided us with valuable feedback during the past few weeks, and their responses are overwhelmingly positive: SysAid 6.5 is a hit!

For this month's newsletter, I was asked to pick my favorite SysAid 6.5 feature. As dozens of different possibilities immediately popped into mind, I was surprised by how hard it was for me to settle on one. I laughed when I saw my colleagues similarly struggle with the question. After a few moments of silence, they invariably responded, "Just one?"

This not only reflects our pride in the new release; it also stems from the fact that with 101 new features, it's difficult to identify just one that makes SysAid 6.5 special. As for me, I consider the new SysAid Chat module a truly significant addition to SysAid's helpdesk capabilities. Its chat functionalities - specially designed for your dynamic IT environment - will transform the way you communicate with your end-users and dramatically improve your efficiency.

With two brand-new modules, enhancements to nearly every functionality, and many features that you personally requested, there's definitely something for everyone in SysAid 6.5!

To see how you can personally benefit from SysAid 6.5's new capabilities, join us on November 11 for a free online webinar, Introduction to SysAid 6.5. In this webinar, SysAid Director of Product Management Oded Moshe will give you a virtual tour of SysAid 6.5. With online demonstrations, real-life scenarios, and thorough explanations of the new features, this webinar is an important opportunity for you to see how SysAid 6.5 can improve your IT performance.

As you wait for the official release of SysAid 6.5, I also invite you to learn more about the IT industry's first-ever benchmarking module, SysAid IT Benchmark. This extraordinary measurement tool - completely unique to SysAid - helps you analyze your IT activities and identify the specific factors that influence your performance. Beneficial for managers and admins alike, the IT Benchmark does the job no IT consultant ever could, simply because it's always up-to-date - automatically and free of charge in every edition of SysAid!

This November, we're also offering the fifth round of the SysAid Certificati on Program. Providing an in-depth exploration of SysAid's internals and capabilities, this course will also show you how to maximize the new features of SysAid 6.5. Register now - space is limited!

We at SysAid haven’t been the only ones busy preparing for a major release – on October 22, Microsoft released the latest version of Windows, Windows 7. Bill Gates promised Newsweek that Windows 7 will be more “user-centric” and will focus on “performance improvements.” Many SysAiders, especially those disappointed with Vista’s performance, aren’t so sure. SysAid Community discussion threads are full with concerns about this next version of Microsoft.

Rene Rijk: “We’ll stick to XP as long as possible. Vista is bad and Windows 7 is way too early to implement.”

Defector: “Microsoft has listed Windows 7 as a minor release. Makes me think they brought out a poorly functioning product, applied tons of patches, and TA-DA! We have Windows 7.”

Lev: “Vista didn’t prove itself and there is no reason to upgrade.”

Other SysAiders take a more enthusiastic approach towards Windows 7 and have even enlisted as Windows Beta testers.

Dallen.heath: “I believe that a jump from Vista to 7 is going to happen. I love Vista and if you don’t, you’re not using it right.”

AtomicDon: “I’m currently using Windows 7 Beta on my machine, and it seems to run great on a gig of RAM and an older PC I was able to claim for testing purposes.”

Brian Martin:
“I went from XP to Win 7 and the performance is as good or even better than the XP install I had on here before.”

So ... Windows 7. Where do you stand?
