I have created you a copy of the report that includes a Pie chart. (I couldn't be bothered to work out a bar chart sorry).
to use it download the jrxml file
go in to the manager portal
click on design reports
highlight sysaid at the top of the report structure and click on the new folder icon and give it a name like "my customised reports"
click on the group you just created (it seems to show the wrong icon at this point a piece of paper instead of a folder icon, ignore this).
now click the new report icon.
Select Choose template
select Active requests.
click save
Change the title to "Active Requests with Pie Chart"
click ok.
click on this new report and use the modify report icon this time
click on the report Design tab
press the upload browse button
navigate to my jrxml file that you have just downloaded.
click ok.
you are done!
have fun!
click on the report design tab

Perhaps the expression builder could be added to this in the future?
shall I log it as feature request?

Thats done the trick, yes what a classic mistake!
Thank you ever so much.
Can I ask, What is the expression syntax built on ?
sql or perl or is it a custom syntax?

this report is already there in analyser select helpdesk, workload and "Active Requests".
The charting bit isn't but just export it to excel.

Thanks for the prompt reply Israel,
but although the error goes away, it does not filter the results at all!

I am trying to filter the third party groups, it works fine if I put one item in the filter
e.g
assigned_group != '3rd Party - Newcomm 2000'
but if I put in
(assigned_group != '3rd Party - Newcomm 2000' or != '3rd Party - Ilient' )
i get error in query
yet i looked at one of your other filters
and the syntax shows (responsibility is null OR responsibility = 'none') which obviously works, so I added the round brackets and the word OR
So where have i gone wrong?
I didn't want to open this as a service request because I think others will benefit from the answer unless it turns out to be a bug.

I was looking at the web forms customization options, and considering a new web form. However, I haven't seen any specific documentation on the actual implementation of one of these forms. My specific questions are:
How do I make a new web form available to users once it has been created and customized?
I would like to know this too please. I couldn't find much on this last time I looked at the manual.

if the user wants to close the request then he probably has "received all the service he needs."?
and would you not be "updated" on the request when it is set to closed any way?
Speaking of being up to date, it is now 14 days since you promised to add the "not closed filter", and the add notes facility back.

Has to be my trusty HTC TYTN II, the browser is nota s good as the iphone, but it sure beats it in customizability.

Just get obelix to write it! he always has a witty perspective on things!
blog about the success of the newcommunity.
Blog about buying mugs and finding out that people would prefer corporate pint tankards!
Blog a summary of the best posts in the forums like obelix tip for monitoring wthout the system monitoring module, or how to make the email link straight to the service request, or Single Sign On, that I didn't even know existed or profile some of your sysaiders.
thats some ideas to be going with.

fearroyo wrote:Thanks for posting the link. It's unfortunate that so many software packages require domain credentials (ie: plain text username/password) be entered into config files.
Guess, i'll go back to the pre 5.5 style where the agent shotcut performs the login.
But you can at least restrict that user account to only being able to log in to that machine.
Thanks for the instructions CliGil, I have just implemeted it and it works a treat!

sorry, got the wrong end of the stick there.
You could just click on the funnel icon and set a filter up saying status is open, and that will show just the activities for jobs that are still open.
or if you want to see all the activites for any status other than closed, follow the instructions below:-
click on the cog wheel,
highlight "filter" in the filter menus and click edit
in the filter caption box type active and in the filter expression box type:-
status in (1,2,5,6)
or whatever the numbers are for the statuses you want to see.
then click add,
then click close,
then click save.
You can now flick between all & active easily.
I hope this helps.

sorry I can't help you there, over to support.
I have just tried the administrator demo on the ilient site just now, and if you click on a new service request and then click the activities tab, you will see a load of unassociated activities.
Do ilient have this in their bug database?
