Techguy... dude you're a sysaider ? I thought you're Haim's brother man... you know so much !
No, I do talk to support & haim a lot though!, in fact more than I talk to my own brother (cos my brother knows nothing about sysaid)

Haim has done a nice new faq on this as well. *broken link removed*

Haim, can I make a suggestion, can you add the words "in the end user portal" to the title of this faq.
3 people have asked this question and I don't think they are finding this article because the title does not contain the words "end user portal"

Haim has also published an Faq on adding fields here:- http://www.ilient.com/Sysforums/posts/list/251.page

Haim wrote:techguy, you can see the amount of new messages near the "private message" link on the top section of the community.
ah I see, but it only stays there on the first screen it notifies you, if you move screens (even though you have not read the message yet) it disappears!
That would explain why I have never seen it.
Try it yourself PM yourself then change screens and it goes back to normal.

Ahh, sorry got the wrong end of the stick there....
The Sysaid FAQ says:
How can I customize SysAid?
Here are some ways you can customize SysAid:
1. End user screens
SysAid administrators can control the screens end users see. An FAQ (maintained by the administrators), and a list of the user's previous service requests, are optional.
Which I take to mean that you can turn off certain screens in the end user portal, but not necessarily customise them.
Thats all that is mentioned in the sysaid Manual as well. http://www.ilient.com/down/SysaidUserManual.pdf
This thread says it is all html that you can edit , but it doesn't say how. http://www.ilient.com/Sysforums/posts/list/48.page#54
Can anyone from ilient clarify this please?
I will post back if I find anymore out.

Welcome to the forums,
this is simple when you know how! (I had to ask a while back)
Go in to helpdesk and select list.
Change the view at the top of the screen to EndUser instead of Default and then customise the view using the cog icon. These changes will be reflected in the end user portal.

where are all the search options in the advanced search?
typically it looks like the attached screenshot below.
How do I find all the postings by obelix for example?
is this a cut-down version of a bulletin board, hence why things like this and timezone is missing or is it based on a standard like phpbb or vbulletin?

Obelix wrote:UMMmmmmm....
Bookmark what you watch ?
I have done that, but it doesn't show details of the activity in any of those bookmarks,
what I am after is the equivalent of Recent Topics, but with watched topics instead.
vbulletin shows them in the user control panel as "subscribed threads."

fearroyo wrote:After installing 5.5 the admin is no longer taken to the Manager Portal when using the Agent installed shortcut. The admin is taken to the end user screen, then we have to hit the Home button and type in our credentials to get to the manager portal. It is happening with both of our manager accounts on different computers.
In version 5.5, we have removed the 'Automatic login from agent' option for security reasons. If you wish to have the administrator log onto the admin portal automatically in a more secure fashion, you could setup Single Sign-On (will only work if you have LDAP integration). If you need instructions for that, let us know.
If you are interested in setting the 'Automatic login from agent' option back as it was on older versions, you could edit a configuration file to enable this. Simply edit the ...\SysAidServer\root\WEB-INF\conf\serverConf.xml file, and break a new line above the </serverConf> line. In that new line, paste the following:
<autoLoginFromAgent>true</autoLoginFromAgent>
Save the file and restart the SysAid Server service to apply the change.
Could I have a copy of the single sign on instructions please? or perhaps could you publish them for all to see?

I don't know whether this can be done, but can a link be added that lists just watched topics?
As there are times that you may want to watch a topic but not receive an email notification about it.

So where is it supposed to notify you that you have a new private meassage, when using the board?
most boards show it in the top right hand corner of the screen.

I am intrigued... in what kind of scenario do you need to duplicate SR ?
new user accounts for starters, recurring faults and assigning pay rise requests to the boss (ok I made the last one up)

Thats a brilliant idea - Saar are you listening? that would set your company apart from the rest, I've got loads of corporate mugs, but no corporate glass pint tankards, I can see it now, beautifully engraved with the sysaid logo!
By the way I am quite serious, hint hint!
