The Best Jobs in the World?

According to 2012 Jobs Rated report organized by careercast.com the first place takes Software Engineer. Their pay is great, hiring demand for their skills is high, and working conditions have never been better.
But it is all too predictable. Here is an alternative .

how about testing holiday resort waterslides? The job duties are - checking the speed, height, water quantity and landing of the flumes, as well as all safety aspects. You would have a chance to travel all over the world. For example, Tommy Lynch working as resort waterslide tester has visited Majorca, Egypt, Turkey, Costa Del Sol, Cyprus, Dominican Republic and Mexico. Working for holiday giant First Choice company this year he will check on quality of new splash resorts in Greece, Turkey, Florida, Jamaica and Ibiza.

And do you like your job? Or you wold like to try something else?

Community User Group

Do we have a proper user group above and beyond the forums.

With all other products that are bespoke that my company is involved with we have proper user groups so we can get the most of the companies we deal with.

If not is this of interest to people.

I know as a community we put some pressure on with regards to the knowledge base

However giving the way things are it may be time to exert our influence in a much more focussed group.

So perhaps an annual or quarterly event where ilient can present and the we can talk about the future and direction from a consumer point of view

Rather than just a webinar where ilient are the focus, we are the focus

Send Message from SR Subject Line

I am trying to find a way to limit the automatic text that is placed in subject line when using "Send Message" from a SR.
Cannot filter status properly in Your (SysAid not mine) end user portal

I am going through my old service requests, trying to close some of my requests now they have been fixed/implemented in the beta but I cannot filter status properly in your (SysAid's - not my own) css end user portal.
Certain statuses like "pending bug Resolution" and "awaiting Feature request implementation" etc are not available to select from the filter, it seems to show just a random selection of some of the statuses.

In the old version Haim had created a view called "Not Closed" to list all outstanding requests with a non-closed status. But I cannot create a similar filter because not all the statuses show up in the list.

Can you fix this please?

SysAid communications

Not sure where to put this, but wonder what experiences other community people have....

I am using the SysAid 7.5.06 Free Edition and most issue I address in the forum.
But sometimes I also contact the SysAid helpdesk by Email (sometimes on their request)...

But I have many time I get emails with no good information ... like:
An email was recently sent to you by a SysAid support representative regarding service request #xxxxxx. Please reply back to email.

If for some reason you didn't receive the email, please reply to this email and we'll send it again.
There was no other email and these lines don't say anything... it just says an email was send.
Like, I send you an Email that I send you an Email.... :-(
It is confusing me a lot... do I need to reply on these kind of message or not?

I recently also had a new SR created by SysAid on an issue I wrote on the Forum.
But got a strange feeling about it, as it was not to solve the issue ... but advising to upgrade to Pro Edition.

I wonder if other people with the Free Edition experience this as well?

Thanks,
Matthijs

Categories and their permissions

I would like to know why in the preferences, help desk, categories you have the option to not make it visable to the end user YET while when creating a KB item you can use a category and then select that KB item to be visable to the end user. It almost negates the whole purpose of having the option in the preferences section. Let me give an example and see if anyone can help me with my issue.

1. I created a category called Administrative processes which contains any item that should not be visable to an end user. And I made sure that the "visable to end user portal" was unchecked.
2. If one of my admins goes to create a kb item and they forget to only mark it "Add to Administrators' Knowledge Base". It will show to the end user because that is the default setting.

Does anyone have any suggestions or is there something different that I should be doing when creating the categories in the first place to not allow this. and in the meantime I am going to recommend a feature request/enhancement so that if a Main category is marked as non visable to the end user than a kb item should not be allow even the option at the time of creation.
