Are there any plans for making an iPhone app to work with sysaid? We use our phones alot and were wondering if anyone had thought about making one.

SysAid does have a mobile interface which is accessable from your internet browser.

Use http:///m/ if you server is available from the internet.

You can also login to SysAid web browser and not just with the /m and you can also use the Chat Module as admin or a user to chat with your clients.

iPhone app is ready and already submitted to the App Store. We now just waiting for apple to add it. Its already tested with version 7. We expect that in a few days you will be able to download it from the app store.

Blackberry app is currently in testing stage.

Android app is currently in development stage.

It's going through Apple's review process. The app is finished, but it's not been approved by Apple yet.

I got the same "Login Error" Login failed for an unknown reason. Even tried connecting via the VPN connection I have on my iPhone just to see if that would have any difference and it still fails. Like the others, I am using LDAP and SSO as well.

We found that the SSO configuration is the most probable cause, but haven't really confirmed it yet. If any of you can temporarily disable single sign on and test the iPhone App, we'll be happy to hear your results...

I can confirm disabling SSO does allow the app to login correctly, unfortuantely need to have SSO enabled else end users will "freak out" that they have to have another login on the system.

JI've just installed the iPhone app.
I'm getting same login error no matter url or url/m/.
I don't use SSO or LDAP.
The web interface or mobile interface are working ok from a PC..only the iPhone app can't login.
Any patch!?

I created a new admin and with this user i can connect to sysaid.

Not SSO or LDAP just because i don't use.

How?
DO NOT use special chars in password ... in my case old password it has char "+"...now i changed and it's works...if i change back then it's fail again.
Ussualy password rules force such chars so maybe also LDAP user have same problem.
For me it was easy

Have a try..maybe it works for you too.

Thank you very much for your collaboration and all the info you provided us.
This will realy help us to try and fix the issue with connecting with SysAid app.

I'm sorry but we are still investigating the issue that you can't connect because of different reasons.

You can also give us feedback and what you think about it (the admins that can connect)

Note that in order to connect to SysAid Server using the SysAid App you must have SysAid Server v7 installed.

Indeed there seems to be an issue with special characters in the password - we will fix this and the other issues ASAP and release an update to the app !

I can tell you that on my end, it was SSO that is causing the issue. I don't have any special characters in my password. It is made up of upper / lower case letters and numbers that's all. Disabling SSO allowed me to login, when I re-enabled, I was not. So to me it appears that there are a few different issues,

- SSO for some ---> This is why I was requesting a while back to have Sysaid allow multiple login types at the same time in the feature request area, that way when SSO fails, you have a fall back that would still allow you to login.
- Special characters for others

We are having the same issue with logins as stated above. We are not using SSO, but are hosting the front end through IIS. Our passwords do not include special characters.

Are there any logs that we could provide that would be helpful?

My service request on this has been closed, basically the solution is just to turn off SSO - it doesn't appear to be an option to get it working with SSO. I don't know whether this is something that can be done in future, I hope so, as I don't want to turn off SSO just for the iPhone app. Oh well.

SSO (Single Sign On) is an option whereby any application takes the currently logged in user on a PC and logs them in as that user in another application. In the case of Sysaid, it takes the currently logged in user and logs them in as that user in Sysaid automatically, so they are not prompted to login.

This is pretty cool to be able to access tickets from the iPhone. I like the ability to update the ticket on site with the end user. I do wish that tasks could be updated from the iPhone interface as well though.

Hi Guys,

I keep receiving a '[b]Login failed for unknown reason[/b]'

I have been through all the previous posts in this forum and nothing is similar.

We have the Service Desk posted on a URL similar to https://suburl.mainurl.vic.gov.au/hd/ using SysAid Enterprise Edition

We do not use single sign on or have passwords that contain special characters.

Any help from the SysAid world would be appreciated.

To answer your question, if you have SSO enabled, it can only be disabled at the server. If you disable it at the server, it disables SSO for everyone, so all will be prompted to login in SysAid.

Hey guys,
I wanted to update you on the current issues we are aware of. There are a few possible causes for the login error you experience (aside of the obvious credentials issue, which we trust that you already confirmed).

1. If the server URL you entered is incorrect it will still show a login failure (eventhough it is actually a connection failure). Please make sure your server URL is correct and your SysAid server is indeed accessible from your iPhone (if you’re going through cellular internet, your SysAid needs to be accessible over the internet). The easiest way to check this is to go to that URL from the phone’s browser and see if you’re getting to SysAid’s login page.

2. If your SysAid server version is lower than 7.0, the iPhone app won't be able to communicate with the server. Please upgrade SysAid to the latest version and then try again.

3. If your username contains a space character in it, the iPhone app will not be able to authenticate with the server. We identified this as a bug and are working to fix this for our soon-to-come new version.

4. If your password contains special characters (anything other than a-z, A-Z, 0-9), the iPhone app will not be able to authenticate with the server. We identified this as a bug and are working to fix this for our soon-to-come new version.

5. If your SysAid server is running with HTTPS (SSL), the iPhone app will not be able to communicate with the server. We identified this as a bug and are working to fix this for our soon-to-come new version. You can identify your settings if you look at the URL – if it started with https://..... instead of http://.... then you are using HTTPS (SSL).

6. If your SysAid server is configured for Single Sign On (Integrated Windows Authentication), the iPhone app will not be able to authenticate with the server. We identified this as a bug and are working to fix this for our soon-to-come new version.

If the actual issue you are experiencing is caused by any of the causes listed in 3 to 6, please contact our helpdesk and specify the reason for the failure on your end. We'll then let you know so we could updated you when the fix is available.

hello i am using the sys app on the new IPAD it is working find but just one thing

when i add a note it dos not add my name date and time

is it just me or it is a bug

in blue it is a note enter by the web site

in red and yellow it is by the sysaid app

What you are describing is because you are not using the "Add" button which is unavailable in the SysAid App.
It's not available because there are no popups in the app.

Perhaps you could add a button called "Add time stamp" instead, that would insert the time stamp into that field.

I also asked in the feature request forum, but no-one replied, could you please add the supplier list even if you can't do the rest of the asset management module yet, then at least I can dial my suppliers from the iphone app.

The iPhone app will be able to connect the On Demand system right after the On-Demand will be upgrade to v.7.
If you wish to test it on a test environment please use the following details:

I'm afraid I'm getting the same error on the app: "Login failed for an unknown reason".

I'm not using LDAP connection so I assume that SSO can't be the issue (not that I can find the setting anyway), and my password does not contain any special characters. In fact I've worked down the list of known causes for this error in the previous post by Joseph but none of those conditions apply to me. Any other ideas? I was excited about using the app!

After updating to 7.0.05 we are seeing the same error with the iPhone app. Login failed for an unknow reason. If I try any other combinations of my login name it tells me that my user does not exist. Loging in via the website from the phone works perfectly.

We have the following configuration:

SysAid through IIS using SSL
No SSO

Are there any other steps to try? I did not see a new version of the app in the AppStore.

We are also launching an iPhone 1.1 upgrade.
Together with 7.0.05 they should solve all issues discovered.
Some of the issues were server side related and some came from the app.
I am not sure exactly what problem you are experiencing, but it may be related to the app itself.

We submitted the update and it should be available in the next few days.

2. Does your user name contain Domain\User ?

It seems like there is a bug with Domain\user, So if this is the case, Ill update the post with the bug number as soon as I can.

Yes we downloaded 1.1 and still not luck. I do believe it does not work in a multi-domain environment. Our users have to use domain/username to log into sysaid.

can't get the app to work here. we have domain\ in our username. Not sure if that's the issue or if because my Password contains special characters.?

if I try myurl/m/ I get "Login Error The Sysaid server you are connecting to must be 7.0 or higher." Server is at 7.00

if just myurl I get a "Login Erroor, Incorrect Login Information".

I can navigate to our sysaid just fine from the browser.

There is a known bug to connect SysAid server using the character “\”.
This issue effect all users with Domain\User login.

The bug number is “6587”.

It would be nice if we could sort on SR# bringing the newest to the top or bottom. Right now it starts with oldest up top, just a bit of pain. Also if we could "and" the filter, I would like to see new and open service request, then sort by SR# if you do active, it groups them by status, I think.

I stumbled across a workaround for this issue in another post:

If you put two \\ in the domain\username field, the iphone app will work.

Example:
URL = http://helpdesk.yourdomain.comport if needed)

Username = domain\\username

Password = xxxxxxxxx

Available at least here in the US today. Although nothing still works. They fixed the "\" issue with multi domain logins, but the filters by user or admin, still don't work.. It doesn't sort SR's by # either, and it only lists assets in alpha order, so if you have 900+ like we do, you only see about 100.

I like the push notiications..

Unable to send A remote control reques to the user. The User is not associated with any Sysaid agent... ??

Actual RD to asset works.. But Is very very very slow (I'm on WIFI), and hard to use..

Is there some magic to getting push notifications to work?

We have SysAid 8.0.05 Pro and I'm not getting push notifications.

I'm using the SysAid CSS app. I switched to that when I couldn't get the SysAid Helpdesk app to connect to my server using it's public address when I was on the internal network.

What is the difference between the 2? It's extremely unclear based on the descriptions and both were updated today with push notification support.
