SysAid 8.1.03 Deployment in Windows Server 2008 R2

My office works in Windows Server 2008 R2 with multiple terminal servers. I would like to try and run the deployment tool to collect data, but everything that I have found suggests that you have to run it on the actual local workstation. This creates a challenge for us because a majority of our workstations are actually thin clients and none of our users do any work outside of the terminal servers. Is there a way that the deployment tool can run from within a Server 2008 R2 environment?

Hi Kdouce,

I have not had any issues with 2008R2 and multiple terminal servers. In my network, all servers are 2008 or 2008R2, and all terminal servers are 2008R2. The only change you need to make on the registry of the terminal servers is the change listed in the following post so that the agent knows it is a terminal server.

http://www.ilient.com/Sysforums/posts/list/531.page#2315

Alex

At first we used to rollout with the depolyment tool which worked fine. Now we just rollout from the Network Discovery / Deploy agents section. Then via our login utility (Scriptlogic Desktop Authority) I push out the required registry settings for the terminal servers.

Alex
