> SysAid Release 5.6

We are happy to present you with a new SysAid release. SysAid 5.6 includes many useful features you have asked for, about which you can read below.

New Features:

Assigned administrator will not receive the specific automatic notification regarding a Service Request that has just been updated/created by themselves
There was an issue in SysAid that started a few releases back- automatic notifications were sent to administrators when they themselves performed the action. Yet when an administrator decides to assign a new service request to himself, or changes the SR himself, there is no need for an email notification to be sent out to that administrator. We have therefore fixed this, and now these email notifications are not sent.

FR #2061 CTI Integration
Integration with CTI- SysAid new release 5.6 can now be easily integrated with CTI (Computer Telephone Interface). The new process can be as follows: when a CTI system identifies the caller, SysAid can now open a service request according to ID number, or any other field you choose for identifying the caller. A caller can be identified automatically or requested to dial his/her ID number, and a new service request is opened, and the request user field is populated accordingly.

FR#1022 Search, Export and Print options in the End User Portal
The SysAid End User Portal includes in the new 5.6 release an option for end users to search their service request list, print, and export the list to a CVS file. Note that if you have customized your End User Portal html files, this new feature will not be available.

FR#1442 SR Quick Access
Accessing service requests is simpler than ever! It is now possible to access  a service request by its ID from any page.

FR#243 and FR#563 Version and Licenses numbers in the Software page
Asset Management – we have added a feature that extracts the versions and licenses numbers of installed software. This new information is available in the software page.

#FR 377 Collecting customized registry key values
The SysAid agent can now collect customized registry key values. They are added to your asset information. You can define the keys in the new tab in the Asset Settings page. For example, you may want to collect the file definition or the date of the last update of your anti-virus program – you can find this information in the registry, usually under your antivirus software section.

#FR 359 New reports and charts in the Manager Dashboard
New useful reports and charts have been added to the SysAid Manager Dashboard, relating to the Tasks and Projects module: The next due projects, and Highest Values reports by manager, category, raw estimation  and requested group.

#FR 176 Duplicating a project
An option to duplicate a Project (similar to the option of duplicating a service request) simply by clicking a new Duplicate icon is available from within a specific project. The project with all its tasks is duplicated. An example for a project you might want to duplicate can be – tasks that should be preformed when a new employee joins your IT team (from a template you have created for this purpose).

#FR 532 Importing users and companies from a CSV file
In the Pro and Trial editions of the new SysAid release 5.6 it is now possible to import both users and companies form a CSV file, similarly to the  importing of assets. (The import also performs update for the existing data).

#FR1093 Secure LDAP connection
SysAid 5.6 now supports an option for a secure LDAP connection.

#FR538 Expression builders to Manger Dashboard charts
In SysAid 5.6 Manager Dashboard we have extended the options to filter data by the expression builder for all the charts. It is also possible to save a new title for the filtered charts. This will allow you to focus the charts on the specific information relevant to you.

In the SysAid new release 5.6 CMDB module, you can add attachments and links  to your CI-s.

FR#2348 New time zone available
A new time zone is now added  in the list of  time zones available in SysAid: the Gujarat Time (-5.30 GMT)

FR#2117 Choosing to order a list by ID or name
When adding a custom filter to a list – SysAid now allows to choose what field to order the list by: ID or name.

FR#442 End user’s company phone number
We have added a new variable to the service request notifications: end user’s company phone number:  ${CompanyPhone}.

#FR2143 Viewing user details from within a SR
Administrators (who are not SysAid administrators) can now view the user details from within the service request.

#FR633 Extended information about the memory
We have extended the information about the memory. Now you can see details on the way the memory is spread in the memory slots.

#FR1670 Customized icon
In the SysAid deploy tool you now have an option to define your own customized icon which will be deployed to your workstations.

#FR 456 Agent requires users to login
You have an option to have the Agent require the end user to login.  This is a useful option for shared workstations which have a generic login,  when end users want to submit SRs with screenshots and asset details.

Our end user portal now supports new browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox 3, and IE 8 Beta.
