We're happy to inform all our Cloud customers that there is a new release out – SysAid 9.0.70 – with an advanced Remote Discovery Service, enhanced dynamic forms, and more customization!

There are a lot of great fixes too, so check out the 9.0.70 release notes.

Note: All Cloud customers will be updated automatically on Sunday, March 10th. However, if you want the new release today, please contact us at support@sysaid.com and let us know if you want to update your working environment with 9.0.70 or just play around with it in a sandbox environment (until March 10th).

Enjoy!

Excellent news Dena.

Looking forward to this release for the in-house customers of SysAid.
Any proposed date on when it might be available for the in-house customers?

This is Feature Request I am most interested in from this release:

11136 - SysAid now allows you to create different forms to match your different types of service requests. You can associate each service category with a matching form, which is loaded automatically during service request submission. Admins and end users can also select the desired form from a list.

As it stands now, I am writing custom HTML to trigger the different types of general Requests that our end-users need to submit now.

This will greatly help us out.

Dear kevgio,

It should be later this year.

I will update this post as soon we have any clarifications regarding the exact day.

Hi Inna,

Is there a process by which in-house customers can gain access to this earlier - eg via a beta release? We would be happy to provide feedback and bug reports where relevant.

We are currently building our new Sysaid environment and feature 11136 is critical to the workflows we need to implement. Without this functionality we will need to do a large amount of additional work setting up workarounds and then re-training staff afterwards, so any method of gaining access to this version in the short term future would be extremely helpful.

Thanks,

Hi guys,

We can offer you to move your SysAid accounts to the cloud, which is where all our new releases go out to first. We have a great offering that will allow you to move, so if you might be interested, contact your account manager for more details.
If cloud isn't an option for you, please contact your account manager and ask to be updated when a beta version is available for inhouse installation that would include this feature. Once it is available in beta, you could get it and upgrade your environment.

I hope this helps.
Joseph.

FYI ...

March 2013 Webinar showed feature request #11136 nicely.

Hi SysAid

Cloud version is not an option for us!

I propose a version of In House at an earlier time point before this year!

In House customers could be very annoyed!

regards
Karlson

Same here. We can't do the Cloud version.

At the end of the video, it sounds like Oleg said Q3 of this year.
That's many months away for a feature we could really use today.

Same for us. Q3 would be too late. Well at least very late
I ws hoping for 2 updates to the on premises verison per year and Q3 would really only allow for one this year

Hi guys,

I appreciate your remarks and I do understand that many of you are In-House customers and are concerned about when you will receive all the features that we are rolling out gradually (and faster) with the Cloud releases. I’m sure you understand that this is the nature of Cloud – since we have more control over the environment, the QA process is so much quicker – and this is how we are able to release so often.
It’s not the same with our In-House releases. Especially the upcoming one, which will include 2 MAJOR features (new GUI and Patch Management), both of which require heavy resources for testing (multiple OSs and databases, etc).

Dan_CXX,
You asked about a Beta Release. If you are not already a Pathfinder, you can register to be one here - https://www.sysaid.com/pathfinder-program.htm.

And then you can get the Beta Release as soon as it's out (end Q2-beginning Q3).

All the best,
Dena

Hi Dena,

I understand the beta phase for the major version updates!
For the small updates in the cloud version but I do not understand!

Why can small updates of the two versions can not be equal?

If the version works in the cloud then also in House version!

Google Chrome update was the draw inHouse a solution very quickly.

best Regards

Karlson

Pathfinder program is planned for the next version 9.5 of SysAid in Q2-Q3!

But we want a state of the version 9 of SysAid

I feel that SysAid is pressuring customers to move to the cloud and pay more money. I remember the good old days when you could buy a full featured, 200 user on premise perpetual license for less than $3k USD. Of course that was from Ilient. And you couldn't hardly keep up with the releases and new features. Now the cost of an on premise perpetual license is up and the features are slowing down. The customers that have made a commitment to SysAid want, need and expect new features. We have been putting off several major changes to our business process waiting for request quicklists(now called templates). Without some of the new features I am going to have to rethink our plans for the next six months.

most of us don't want these new modules you keep developing, what most of us want is the core helpdesk components, service desk, projects module and asset management that we have already bought regularly updated and improved, instead not more than 3 improvements have been made to the projects modules since we bought it 5 years ago.
Why not deliver just the dynamic forms improvement now to your in house customers? Agile development should be frequent small updates should it not?

Spot on, we do not want the new modules.
personally i prefer that the focus is on Service Desk, Asset Management, Change/Request Management
it would be great if these modules can be improved (check the feature request forums)
and that bugs can be fixed etc.
