Custom date and time field / entity

Hi All,

I'm trying to create a custom date and time field for service records (outside of the workflow tab). Using entities you can create a new date entity but this does not capture time.

Out of the box there are a number of date AND time fields - eg Expected Downtime Start & Expected Downtime End. The issue is that these are Action entities and not Service Record entities, so you can only place them in the workflow tabs (otherwise I would override a stock field using translation).

It looks like there is just some additional code that would need to be entered in to the Advanced tab of the entity, but it doesn't look like you can review the code for the default fields so trying to customize one of the Date entities without the right information would be a stab in the dark.

Please let me know if there is a way to create one of these fields and if so how.

I need date/time fields too... how can they be configured?

I'll follow-up with the PM team. There is a Date field you can add, but you'd still need to use a separate time field, such as a text field to handle the colon and am/pm notation (if you use that).

Even i want to use this. I want to use a custom field to capture both date and time in one single field. But when i am creating a custom filed of type Date, its not showing time.

The behaviour of the field should be similar to Due date filed (Where we can see both time and date).

Anyone from sysaid team, please comment on this.

This is very basic stuff and sysaid should support this out of the box.

This is very basic functionality and sysaid should support it out of box.

I don't want to go through PS customization route for something like this.

Seems to me like a bug in the system, which should be looked at by sysaid and fix it.

You can vote on FR #8752 in this thread.

Unfortunately, I don't have more information on these feature requests at this point, as they are developed in consideration of many different factors. If this topic poses a critical matter, I suggest contacting your account managers and they will be able to provide more answers.

Hi All,

we need a date and time field. We use the "Custom Date 1" field, but noticed that this field does not support the format of time.

This would help us to compare different times in our service requirements.

I noticed the Due Date field already has this. Could I setup a custom field the same as the due date field?
