1.Go to Preferences->Asset Setting-> Asset Update
2. From the Command dropdown menu, choose Upgrade client version.

I can do step one, but when I get to step 2, I do not see anything called command dropdown. This is the Admin Portal we are talking about right?

I am running the On Demand version of the software if that helps.

Hi motc7,

In order to upgrade the Agent version please go to Asset Management > Network Discovery > Upgrade Agent Version and add a schedule or a task and click run now.

In order to update the asset data please go to Asset Management > Network Discovery > Update Asset Data and add a schedule or a task and click run now.

As I said the upgrade does not change configuration so I am not sure what you mean by will this setting apply to all sub-groups today?

Please clarify I would be happy to address.
Have a great day

Since Harold never came back to explain and since I'm in a similar situation, I'll pick the ball where he left it

In our case, similar to Harold, we have groups within groups (what he called sub groups) like :

\Building C\Offices\C2030
\Building C\Offices\C2040
\Building C\Offices\C2050
\Building C\Labs\C3010
\Building C\Labs\C3020
\Building C\Labs\C3030
\Building C\Class rooms\C1010
\Building C\Class rooms\C1020
\Building C\Class rooms\C1030

Only the 'end groups', like C2030, C2040, etc have agents in them. The 'parent groups' (like \Building C\Offices) are merely to organize things for us humans.

If I choose \Bulding C\Offices as group for agent re-deployment, will it re-deploy to the agents in groups C2030, C2040 and C2050 (the sub groups of \Building C\Offices) or must I specify each of these groups individually?

I believe this is what Harold was asking and I would really like to know as well. Like him, I have many 'end groups' with agents and having to specify each of them individually would be counter productive hence why he asked for a feature request if it wasn't already possible.

Thanks.

I also want an answer to this question asked by SylvainG and Harold.Ballinger .

If one chooses a group higher in the heirachy does the update occur for those below?
If one selects no group from the dropdown (e.g., Group is " \ "), does the upgrade occur for all groups?

Anybody?

thanks.
